Its just a suggestion.

Because in a couple of billion years the universe will eventually collapse upon itself......and restart

So isn't a good idea to be a loving person and believe in redemption and salvation? Because in the end, everything you stood for and lived to create will be erased from history and the universe itself....

What do you think?

aren't you the guy who saw that michael jordan sig and thought that it was tupac?....yeah, I don't think that i'll be taking any advice from you

To Be Frank, you have no right or anyone for that matter to decide what a person should believe is real or not. It all pertains to if it's in our hearts.

Don't be so self absorbed with your own ideals and religion that you become ignorant of the feelings of another. What makes you different from everyone else? Sure you are happy to be alive and sure you have a roof over your head and a glass of water to drink every now and than. But does your God or whatever you believe in make you better than anyone else who does not comprehend it?

Just plain NO!

To be fair anyone can believe what the hell they choose to so this thread is a bullshit claim of disregarding other beliefs and doctrines. You arrogant brat.

As a matter of fact. What gives you the right to question us?

Answer us that?

Why do we have to listen to someone who is not even gonna give a single damn?

You and all your uncertainly. Please. :|

Just a heads up, if you don't acknowledge Kira as your God and Sasuke as your Lord, you're going to hell. :)

I think it's be best to stay out of this one. >.>
But I'll throw in my two cents. I have no interest in believing in something that cannot be scientifically proven. And I think it's kind of ignorant, your premise, you want us to believe in something so we can be good people? Horseshit. There are good people in any sect, in all parts of the world, and of course there are bad people too. But just because we lack faith in something doesn't mean we won't feel obligated in a moral way to help someone or something of the sort.

Think, before you drink, before you drive me mad.

There is nothing viewing what the brain processes--there is only You sensing the environment around you, while the brain interprets your empirical data. The mind is your own personal consciousness powered by the brain and the energy it consumes is the ATP taken in by the brain, produced by the body, produced by the food you eat. All 100 million neurons work together to construct your thoughts, memories, senses, and emotions.

I know. But, what is consciousnesses? We know what it does, it makes us aware of ourselves. When you think about it, consciousnesses is the "operator" of the human mind. And this operator you call "consciousnesses", is something that transcends the span of the human life. Do you honestly believe that your whole life, worth of memory, experiences, heartbreak and joy are all for nothing? Human do not live life for nothing.

That's cute and all... but it doesn't really work to describe the experience.

Which sounds like a technicality until you go beyond classical physics and get into the world of Quantum Mechanics. Then... well... as Einstein put it: "I should like to think the moon is there even when I'm not looking at it." ... Which is an excellent way of summing up the connundrum:

To quote:

"The problem of the relation between mind and body is well known as a difficult `world knot'. Over the centuries various monistic and dualistic theories have been proposed, and the subject has had renewed interest as we try to assimilate the implications of quantum physics. These implications may make us reexamine our views of brains and bodies, but it is still not clear what consequences they have for our understanding of minds.
Earlier in the interpretation of quantum mechanics, it appeared that the problem of measurement could only be solved by introducing some basic notion of an observer, presumably a conscious observer. Many scientists and philosophers (e.g. Wigner (1962) Eccles and Popper (1977), Faber (1986), Toben (1974), Squires (1990), Donald (1990) among others) have taken this solution to indicate an essential role of consciousness in the physical world. Consciousness, to solve the measurement problem, must initiate the transition from quantum potentialities to definite actualities. It would not have to select which actuality, but merely cause some actuality to be produced. Squires and Donald accept this merely `collapse prompting' role of consciousness, and their position has the advantage of requiring no changes to quantum theory, as consciousness then makes no change to any predicted probability. Squire's conclusion, unfortunately, does not yield any functional role which may be important in mental and/or physiological processes in the brain. Donald (1990) does go on to give circumstances in which `measurement collapses' are important for the function of neural cells, but their effects are simply to reinstate the `classical' on/off nature of the sodium switches even when there are quantum uncertainties."

Many theories exist on the subject - but the problem still exists, and is growing increasingly obvious as the materials we can place into 'entangled' or 'coherent' states become increasingly large (systems large enough to be seen with the naked eye, these days).

You can get a an overall primer on it at everyone's favorite starting point:

And why do you believe it isn't all for nothing? Just curious. Why do you believe we have a purpose?

Honestly, I don't know. But, humans play games, doesn't matter what game, but they play them to receive quick rewards. Be it, new gear, better weapons, higher rank, more money. etc.

I think of life as a game, one without a stop/pause/save button. We make choices, to receive rewards. These choices leads us down the paths of hurt, and joy, but also to rewards. All humans are playing towards the same reward, that reward being death. If death didn't offer a reward, people wouldn't live their lives. People wouldn't strive to live their lives, trying to reach that final goal. If death didn't offer us anything, then why are humans trying to live their lives, trying to reach that final goal?

This goal I speak of, I don't know what it is, as I said before. But... when I think about it, it hurts my head. :/
