A serious question...

Here's a question that's been lingering in my head for an hour now, and I need to know what you guys would do.

Question:

If two cages were filled with people in it, both hovering over a huge pit of lava, one cage containing your wife and child, and the other with 50 innocent families in it, which one would you choose to live?
