Wrong, I'm just studying a wide variety of philosophers at the time.

The thought of existence has plagued the minds of many people. Do i really exist? Am i really dead and just living the life i was suppose to? Am i in a state of perpetual dream and cannot wake up?

Some people go out of their way to prove their existence; some by self harm or to attract attention. However they live in a world of illusion, they cannot differentiate reality from fantasy. Their consciousness cannot tell the difference between what they imagine and what is truly there. Our consciousness is our way of telling us we exist, to seperate reality from fantasy but there are people with mental illnesses that cannot do that.

People rather live in a world of illusion when reality is just too hard for them, they rather escape from their problems. When a person begins to question their existence, they long to live in another reality.

This philosophical question is basically a massive mind f**k. As an infant they do not understand the concept of existence. When an item disappears from their sight, then it is gone forever.

Awesome post. I'd wish to touch upon it with my own opinion and insight. I believe this state of questioning one's existence resides in almost every human. Simply because humankind themselves gave life a purpose; derived from the concept of opposites. Rich and poor, good and bad; respectively this began to bring dissatisfaction in one's life. When we are born, there's now 'a bottom' that we have to climb up from. As long as there's that bottom, there will be those that are dying to get out of it, and those that have succeeded, but are dying to get as far away as possible. Those at the top are the ones that have some control over the world's resources, and because of the imbalance between top and bottom, there's a side that is in constant need of aid. To help them, we must climb out of that bottom. There are plenty of people that feel useless, or as if they are no good to anyone if they don't better mankind. Also, we are subject to constant pressure from our society if we do nothing to help out mankind. Though this sometimes come in the form of inspiration. Regardless, most of us don't want to be seen as bad people, or rejected by our society, and will do anything to gain its acceptance. Then there are people that want to escape this bottom solely for their own benefits. The point is, when one accepts a purpose in life, they acknowledge that they don't exist if this purpose is not fulfilled. They can become dissatisfied, which can open the door to many unhealthy thoughts and behavior. Whether we are climbing to the top for our own profit, or that of the world's, we are still trapped in the concept of 'Many exist, but not everyone lives.' They are both the same, and if we question living, then we question our existence as well. Even if it may not be in the form as something as blatant as "Do I exist?"

This nearly impeccable system demands from us all that we question our existence.

Either way, we are real. Our lives might just be a simulation, if you think religiously, but we are still real.

Simulations aren't real though.

I'm thinking of like test subjects, guinea pigs :) I see you like to post threads about religion, so I'm guessing that's what you're going after. If God is real, then he is infinite, in other words, we as humans, might be one of his test subjects, running real life simulations on us to see how we evolve and stuff :D
