So as you might have already realized from the title, this is my theory about what really happened at the VOTE.
Madara was the strongest Uchiha shinobi of his time. He was planning this for a very long time ( His fight with Hashirama in order to get his hands on Senju DNA ), he had the freaking Kyuubi for God's sake! So how exactly did Hashirama beat him? What? He pulled a "miracle-no-jutsu" out of his ass? I refuse to believe that the "Shinsuusenju" is enough to beat the freaking Kyuubi in a PERFECT SUSANOO armor!
Some facts:
1. Kyuubi is the strongest of all the Bijuu!
2. Madara has EMS.
3. Madara was planning this for quite some time.
4. Although Hashirama was a BEAST i never imagined him as someone who could defeat Uchiha Madara and take care of the Kyuubi at the same time! That is just too much and makes Madara look like a fodder ninja in comparison.
5. According to Itachi, after Madara took Izuna's eyes he went on to conquer many clans.
Doesn't this prove how powerful Madara really was? Now don't get me wrong i am aware that Hasirama was one in a million! Master of the sage mode and probably 10 times stronger than Madara in terms of pure physical power. But Ninjutsu and Genjutsu should be in Madara's favor. Yes Hashirama has wood release but last time i checked Amaterasu burns through wood.
All that i am trying to say is that maybe... just MAYBE Madara didn't just fight Hashirama, lose and was lucky enough to get some of his DNA... maybe Madara allowed himself to be beaten so that he could fake his death and create a criminal organisation without Hashirama and Tobirama trying to stop him.
In closure, Madara wasn't just lucky, by the time he had his "final fight" with Hashirama he was already on the SAME LEVEL as Hashirama. He just didn't want to go all out and risk them both ending up killing each other. EMS Madara was just as strong as Hashirama.
