Did anyone else think that the torn leaf that Hashirama found that Madara had earlier was a symbol for something?

Madara was on the brink of a cliff but saved by hashirama. When he started returning to his old self. Tobirama showed him the real bitter truth that he wouldn't be acknowledged neither by uchiha nor senju. So his only choice was to leave and he left with disappointment. After that he decided to erase all shinobi.

it was the original leaf used when Madara formed the name of Konoha. The leaf, when discovered by Hashirama, was split in half symbolizing the split of Konoha. Since at that time the village was formed by the merging of the Senju and the Uchiha, the split represented the separation of Konoha being between the Senju and Uchiha and ultimately the decision for Madara to try and force the Uchiha to leave Konoha and stay away from the Senju

Madara cared about his clan, and nobody can blame him. Uchiha and Senju should have taken turns on leadership like what one of the forumuers mentioned. Democracy huh, Tobirama? I wonder if there was any democracy in choosing Hiruzen as the 3rd hokage.

Still, I'd say the main reason why Madara left is that stone.. he wanted more power. I recall Kabuto mentioning something about the stone and making Madara beyond his prime upon resurrecting him, to which Madara replied that someone like Kabuto shouldn't have been able to read the stone.

I can't wait to get a detailed account of the finale of Madara & Hashirama's last battle and how did the greatest shinobi of all-time meet his end.

Tobirama is acting more and more like Danzō with each passing chapter.

I think its dope that Madara named the village & was considered by the first hokage himself for the latter's seat.

Btw, we don't need a bad translation to tell us that Madara's evil; you all saw what he did to Tsunade.

True, that was a difficult situation for Madara. The Senju whooped him, Tobirama was going Hitler on him and his clan who rejected him, but that is no reason to just go evil out of nowhere.

True, that was a difficult situation for Madara. The Senju whooped him, Tobirama was going Hitler on him and his clan who rejected him, but that is no reason to just go evil out of nowhere.

There is not enough sense of understanding in those statements. He merely chose another path based on his experience, and showed his will as an individual. And he was fair to do so, he found another dream to strive for, even if it meant going against the river flow, that's all.

This is was an amazing flashback, agree with Twisted007 on this one, most important. It wasnt flashly, but it was deep. Madara's sense of brotherhood was strong enough that he was willing to compromise this far and build the village. Tobirama's mindframe is something similar to Danzo in how cold and calculating he is to ensure the safety of the village. But Madara's love for his people's true principles and the hatred of the sharingan is what drove him over. Very excited to see the conclusion in the weeks ahead. In the meantime I will enjoy Ultimate Ninja 3. 4/5

Hate him or love him, truth be told... Tobirama is the reaosn naruto storyline made it this far. So all you naruto fans out there.. thank TOBIRAMA!! He gives purpose to the story

I really loved the chapter actually... It started as I thought it might (Hashi wanting to kill himself) and it was touching that Madara stopped him.

As cool as Tobirama is... He angers me alil. If he had not killed Madara's brother... and kept his Uchiha hating opinions to himself. Hashi and Madara could have been good pals!

I did anticipate there being a bigger deal made about Madara leaving but I'm more than satisfied with this chapter.

It's pretty sad how grief can warp a good person!

definitely this was a great chapter! I think this gave me more of an overview of Madara's character and understand character of Sasuke way more, they're both alike in some aspects.

Madara's development in this chapter was bit rushed at the end because the build up leading up to Madara leaving the village was well....random, it just did not fit well.

I give this chapter a 2.4/5 again a ok chapter

People need to stop hating on Tobirama. In a battle he killed Izuna after a Senju was killed. That's what happens when clans are at war. It's ignorant to believe that Tobirama was the reason Madara turned evil. Hashirama may not have had control of Tobirama's words, but he did have authority over his actions. As extreme as Tobirama is, he obeys his older brother. This was plain to see, so Madara should not have been worried about an attack on the Uchiha. Had Madara stayed and worked with the Senju, the Uchiha Clan massacre could have possibly been avoided.

Well it was certainly an important and informative flashback... i am quite enjoying the history being unveiled...

i don't know why people are blaming tobirama for madara's over-reacting idiocy???

tobirama was being factual, he knew how much unstable were the uchiha and what were they capable of...? but he should have had a soft corner of optimism in his heart at the time when everyone was trying to forgive and forget..

plus madara hated tobi for having killed izuna, he couldn't get past that fact, at that time it was brutal war, kill or be killed...

times change but he kept that hatred in his heart too... and was probably looking for a reason to rip out tobirama's face...

i say it was both their fault which caused madara to go rogue... don't only blame tobirama...

really looking forward to next chapter... good job kishi
