One of my secret strategies that I have come up with(and only a few close people I have told) is awakening canceling.

(NOTE: this only works with people with Instant Awakening)

The trick is being able to predict when an opponent subs and then awakening at that moment. It automatically turns you around to restart the combo on the person, and because your blows are stronger than your opponents while awakened, it allows you to continue the combo. This clever trick keeps you from using up your chakra from combo cancelling so that you end up having a decent amount of chakra left while your opponent has fewer subs.

Now, if they happen to sub when you awaken, then you should combo cancel back if the person is a fast character, or backdash if the person is a slower character so that you can quickly exit awakening and preserve your chakra gauge.

I've seen a video about that, and apparently, the opponent can be caught in a jutsu loop.

I've fought against that before. Works best with Neji as it seems.

I use Oro-sama and aim to be as unpredictable as I possibly can.

I've seen a video about that, and apparently, the opponent can be caught in a jutsu loop.

Its possible, but that trick doesnt take into consideration that people can just sub out of it with ease. Not only that, but when they unawaken to stop the jutsu, they are temporarily vulnerable from the actual deactivation of the awakening and the stunning ability in the awakening is lost, giving the opponent time to react to any attack or to attack themselves.

Its overall not very effective because it needlessly wastes a little over half of the opponents chakra to do the damage equivalent of a strong jutsu or possibly a combo(BTW, this is only IF the person hasn't subbed at all), which is why it is not seen online so much. What's the point of using such a tactic if you wont have any chakra left to dash/combo cancel or use jutsus that could be useful later on in battle?

The awakening cancelling strategy is much more useful and actually conserves chakra while doling out more damage, plus only a handful of people besides me actually know how to use it effectively, so if you master it, then that will be another advantage you will have against an opponent when you have an IA character.

It works best with characters who have good speed and/or good reach such as Neji, Lee, or Mifune but if you time it right, you can still catch people with an awakening cancel with slower characters like chouji or yamato.

That sounds fun to play ;D
I do the same with Kabuto- Snake Cloak is my most used character.

His tilt confuses a lot of people because they think it is just a cdash.
