In Storm 3, are there any unique or interesting strategies you use to f*ck with your opponent? And NO i'm not talking about comboqueening with part 1 neji or something or throwing shurikens every second as if you don't know any other buttons- i'm talking ACTUAL new ideas that you've come up with yourself. I've mastered characters like Goku Naruto, Madara and Edo Itachi but they're all just so...plain. They're not even that really fun to play as so now i've committed my time into the game finding different ways to play the game- or sometimes just have fun.

  1. Utakata
(Strategy is the fact that you can win matches with this guy without making it look like you give a sh*t. Your grabs are always in perfect close range, your tilt sends you into the opponent catching them offguard and your jutsu. DAT JUTSU. Enemy underestimates and charges into it. Every single time. You can use your bubbles at the start to infuriate the other player when all of their jutsu keep getting cancelled and they have no chakra. Go for it and you can even get a Ultimate Jutsu in there somewhere.
  2. War Tobi
The phasing tilt is just too much fun to NOT use.
  3. Ino
The sneaky poison and stall for time trick has worked since Storm 2 and is still my best method of fighting. Ino is fantastic because if you're good enough and train yourself to use her- she can actually hold her own in combos too. It's knowing when to grab, when to go for one of her awesome twirly combos and when to do that usefl slide tackle tilt.
  4. Deidara
I can happily say I can play Deidara without spamming! (Since Deidara is actually one of my favourite characters its sad to see him abused) Deidara's jutsu is frankly amazing and I don't get why more people don't use it. The strategy with Deidara is to get in there with his short combos. The main thing here is surprise. Other player psyches themself up to fight a spammer and gets the shuriken out- big mistake. Genuine skill + originality > Spamming. The tilt is fun to avoid enemy combos.
  5. Sai
My old strategy from Storm 2. Turn the arena into a minefield. Sai not only has his ink dogs but can fly over the stage sneakily dropping off supports like Tobi, Tenten or Haku and its almost impossible to dodge them all one after another. Whilst your enemy is trying to work out where to go you swoop in for the kill. With whatever you want.

Anyone else got any strategies outside the box? Also- feel free to use any of these if they sound interesting :')

I really like playing as Mifune. Sure not a lot of people play as him, but his jutsu has long range, and his tilt is a good attack and retreat without using chakra. The only thing I don't like is his ultimate has NO reach.
On a side note, (sorry to ask you a question on your thread ^_^) But what is your strategy on saving subs? That is no doubt the reason why I am always losing! like how do you save them up without getting wrecked?
Btw: PSN is moerose1 :D

I like using Utakata. Especially against people who aggressively chase you. It makes them look stupid.

I know right! I hate players like that, it just stops them dead in their tracks and then they just don't really know what to do aha :')

I'd just think ahead. If your team support gauge is charged enough, you can start attacking, but that's mostly for Projectile characters. If the opponent dashes right after you use a sub, quickly use a throw attack or a tilt that stops the dash (like PTS Shino in Generations).

So you just use Mifune quite well, got it :D

Um well my strategy is to get in there first (which isnt always possible) but the main trick is to know WHEN to just take a hit. If someone is near the end of their combo or you can tell they're just gonna dash again anyway you may as well just know when and when not to take the damage, it can save you a lot of health in the long run.

I imagine that must be a big issue with using Mifune huh :') (HINT- Try using his tilt when it's useful. That thing can mess up combos before they start, it's basically designed to stop combos. It's a little temperamental though.)

I'll add you, we should play sometime!

But sometimes the bubbles don't track the target. In that case, I'd just set up bubbles by Ninja Moving + Shuriken. That way, when they move in for a combo, the bubble stops them, and I can attack.

Yeah, the thing is, I just learned how to use tilt, so it's not exactly muscle memory! I get a message from some kid everytime I lose something along the lines of "noob yu suck quit nruto lolz" And I just want to destroy them!!!
Yes we shall definitely play sometime!

I'd be willing to help you out also. I admire your interest in Chojuro.

Ugh players like that are the worst. It'd be so refreshing to actually play friendly matches with decent people for once (im into just messing around tbh, competitive is just too much effort and i'm really not cut out/good enough for it aha)

Luckily I haven't encountered that many people who are really that annoying on Storm 3. It seems to have a better community than Storm 2 & Generations had.

I am forever Indebted to you :D Thanks the character fascinates me!!

Also pretty big Chojuro fan right here! I was crushed to find out he wasn't playable in Storm 3! Especially with all the manga time he had during the war, they should've totally made a Chojuro playable level of that (Darui got one pfft)

Yes that made me angry! His jutsu, Hiramekarei: hammer form, ultimate, Hiramekarei: Longsword! There you have it! I feel like the character developers just got lazy!
Anyway, if you're a Chojuro fan, do you mind reading my unpopular thread? haha ^_^

He'll probably be playable in Generations 2 (if that's even what they'll call it). The next title probably won't be named Storm 4 though.

There better be some different characters, and new combos and ultimates!
