looking at pain's plan and how he had to take jiraiya out away from the village (the strongest shinobi in the leaf at that time) then attack, that meant that pain didn't want jiraiya there coz with enough backup he would be too much of a threat, and we can't deny that having another sannin on your side (tsunade) is a one hell of a backup (another beast). Team sannin for the win (no doubt).

How do they counter chibaku tensei? Also black zetsu stated itachi was invincible which going by your logic itachi would be able to beat anyone. Pain was just praising his sensei.

don't argue please, this is one of these people who don't bother reading the manga and make up their own understanding of it (what will they do against this and that ..... sheesh). they suggest that what character's said (itachi, nagato) was BS so ..... you can't argue with someone who speaks from another manga ....

What Zetsu said, it was just his opinion, as an outsider.
But Pain HIMSELF stated Jiraiya is stronger then him. Why would he say this if it isn't true?
