I'm sorry kyo4 I don't know what your saying we have a muuuuuch larger navy and Air Force and more allies that could assist with fighting and supplies. We could also steal supplies after having neutralized their military. Germany has done it, Japan did it, Russia did it. Conquest fuels conquest. @anoreian16 no country is honorable they all make war and Britain is still an empire with remarkable power and influence for a population so small.

And what is the end result? The great powers exhausts themselves and a new power arises..... Just look at the first two World Wars: Brits was in the position USA is now.....

Who do you think the new power would be? No we exhaust ourselves then America and our allies that fought against china and its allies replenish ourselves at their expense. It's the way of war it's conquest and it will never end until all humans are dead. I feel like I try and be logical about this a bigger military and more allies wins wars. I'm done arguing its bed time. To clarify I don't hate china I was merely disgusting a hypothetical situation. We need them as much as they need us we make them a lot of money. Nighty night

History teaches us otherwise: Once the Sun never used to set in the British Empire, now they are just the shadow of their former glory . . . . if I m wrong show me an Empire that didnt fall.

Almost forgot, The new power? Lets see.... perhaps one of your allies?

History teaches you otherwise? im arguing america would win the war what your saying would apply if we lost. All things end that's the nature of the universe one day humans won't exist one day matter itself won't exist. China as a matter of fact was an empire for thousands of years and relatively recently changed their government and britain hasnt fallen their still an empire albeit not as powerful. I'm going to sleep its been fun

Well ok good night but what I have been saying is that everything has its consequences, even a victory can bring u defeat. And the fact that Chinese Empire did fall only supports my case so I m not understanding the contex.... as for Great Britain I wanted the point out that the country which once owned nearly half the world now matters a lot less which also supports my case that USA should be careful and not so full of themselves (History also shows us that many Strong Empires was brought down small factors) or the Ideals its founding fathers propagated will be lost...... also 'fall' does not mean destruction only, it also means reduction in power or influence which I would rather avoid.....

To maintain dominance and exploit weaker countries of course. Not a pretty truth but its true. if we spend the most money on r&d we always have the best weapons. Btw the american navy is bigger than the next ten largest navies combinded, I just enlisted in the navy:)

True story. U.S.A. has about 800+ military bases scattered around the globe, meddles and overthrows governments that they want to rule (Lybia, Syria, Iran, Irak, Afghanistan, etc.), and forces huge loans on poor countries.

Shut your bitc.h mouth star punk
Yeah, star punk!

USA is almost bankrupt a few years back, and now the economy are strongly relied on MANY other countries support, so its not that powerful anymore.
I like how your gibberish turns into proper English when US bashing, must be the passion. Also, just to clarify, our 2008 credit crisis had no relation to our military power

Oh snap! Wang is talking serious for once!
OT: AirWind is right lol. U.S. is bankrupt. Their just covering it up by printing more money with the Federal Bank Reserve, creating more and more inflation for the dollar. U.S.A. also has huge loans from China, spends billions on foreign policies (military industrial complex) to prolong their agenda to get a power-grip around the world instead of spending their wealth domestically, like Ron Paul suggested.

But AirWind is wrong on one part, although the us is kinda bankrupt, their power and influence still reign over other countries meddling successfully with other countries domestic policies around the globe. Especially the middle-east.

I've grown listening to ppl talking about how mighty United Sates of America are and how developed they are compared to the rest of the world (Japan, Germany & South Korea not included, of course) and just a few minutes ago i was checking a thread talking about the U.S military funds and how big it is.
I love America though i don't live there, but seriously: does America REALLY need such an enormous amount of money wasted on military R+D? Which country would be crazy enough to attack them? They have the most advanced army in the world, the second one in manpower....then again: why is that amount of money necessary?

You said it yourself all you neednow is common sense

The us armed forces are the biggest and noone in their right mind would go to war with the us

Howeverus wouldnt spend as much on defense as they do that would change with time, as simple as that

Just because we carry a large amount of debt does not mean we're bankrupt, we have the ability to increase our debt limit...which I agree is abused. Or political system is not designed to solve problems, it designed to postpone them. We can easily solve our debt issues by raising our taxes, which of course no one here wants. Honestly, I don't think you understand economics, our issue is getting back to sustainable growth & creating jobs. I've had enough of this, I'm going spamming, good day to you, sir.

We're not full of ourselves we're proud. I admitted our economy took a hit but no military on the planet is capable of messing with us. So in a hypothetical war that is not specified who started it America with a larger military and more allies would be victorious over china. That was the point of all of this not hating on china just giving an educated opinion based on size of militaries, allies and who they would ally with and the nature of war (rob the loser).

At the bolded: That's looking at the economy from a obedient, passive civilian's way. The real problem here is the monetary system that transfers the money from the poor to the wealthy and when in trouble, lets the taxpayers deal with it, financially.

Some of you guys are missing a very simple point. Politics is not anymore a matter of raw power. It's not because now every major force has nuclear weapons, and this keeps the relationship between each of them at a dynamic equilibrium.

So it's more about who has the most influence. And there is only one way you can gain influence. Money. That's why instead of going against another major force head on, influential countries try to squash smaller countries so as to get money in the process. Not the countries themselves, but the companies that support them.
And that's happening because there is a problem for those companies. What problem you ask? There are less and less countries that are below the developing stage so the markets are getting less and less.

@ThomasJeffersonwasasadist : The fact that you recently joined the navy deems you preoccupied. Sorry but it seems that that's the way it is and I don't blame you for that.

Well u still dont get the concept of 'everything has its consequences' and 'reality can be rather strange' . . . . also U might not get it but in a Hypothetical situation where China gets all the advantages China too may win........ (then where the fudge shall we go?)

Also a Educated opinion never underestimates an enemy and certainly does not makes decisions on chances all hanging on a hypothetical situation...... none enters a competition to lose, so underestimating an enemy is greatest mistake one can make . . . . . . If US has even 1% chance of losing its spells doom for many of us, so better not take chances, as we all remember it took only a few evil nutjobs to shake the entire US.....

Because #yolo.

America just wants protection and to be ready if anything happens, I guess, or maybe they want to brag xd

And like others have said, we're in debt, so we're not as powerful in overall as we once were. I think we're inferior to other places in a lot of ways, but I don't like to compare. I like seeing it as the world, instead of a place.
