I don't get the two situations. If in situation 1 Vergo senses that he is losing, why would he not go all out. That's like restricting Zoro to one sword. Why is that interesting to test ?

Anyways, I think that Zoro can beat Vergo in situation one, Vergo was shown though but not indestructible. Sanji and Smoker both showed that. I think Zoro can deal pretty good damage to him and is strong enough to defend from incoming attacks.

In second scenario i'm much less optimistic. Vergo's haki was crazy, it even stacked on his normal super human durability. His bamboo broke through all kinds of material from rock to iron to Smoker's Jutte. I really wonder if Zoro (at this point in the story) has what it takes to cut through haki. As shown by Cavendish with Durendall on Chinjoa's head that with enough control swords can't penetrate or cut, but even bend.

There is no doubt that Zoro will obtain good haki skills later on, but so far he hasn't shown any. I think it's crucial to have some kind of ability to bypass Vergo's haki (devil fruit or haki) in order to damage him. At this point in time Zoro hasn't shown that yet, I don't think this is a battle you can win with strength alone.

I don't know why verto is so underestimated here, I say zoro with high diff. Vergo was the strongest vicr admiral we've seen. Zoro is not yet admiral levl but he is certainky stronger than smoker imo. In other words vergo and zoro are around the same power level.

Don't bother, all of those guys never include any form of argumentation WHY Zoro would win. It's just a three word sentence that include the words: solo/low-diff/owns.

I'm still waiting for the first person to explain why they would expect Zoro to be able to cut through that kind of haki, while Zoro hasn't shown any comparable feats. The only reason Law won was because of his ability, Zoro doesn't have that ability. Fighting close range with strength is right up Vergo's ally.
