[Discussion] zoro is overhyped.

He is overhype because people thinks he hasn't shown everything Post TS like Ashura and Sharingan nonsense (which people likes to believe).
The reason why he is liked is because of Part 1. There were numerous moments where he was seen as a badass as well as comical character. Example is Baroque Arc where Shs were sleeping n he was the only one who was fighting those Assassin's.
So far in part 2 everyone is excited because of Wano where they expect Zoro will deliver his best partly because he was given that Black sword from the hero of Wano and maybe because he is related with Samurais in some weird way.

How is Zoro "not even close" to Doffy... we're at a stage now where the SH's are going up against the Yonko and their crew. If Zoro isn't hovering around Doffy's level then he might as well give up now. Luffy fights the strongest guy and Zoro fights the second strongest primarily, and Luffy's at a stage where he's fighting people who are > to Doffy. So realistically Zoro should be on Doffy's level, maybe not stronger, but on that level for absolute certain. We're at a point now where the SH's are fighting the very strongest, they grow to the level of their opposition, and that goes for someone like Zoro especially who's role on the crew is to be one of their top fighters.
