It rained, it calmed,
the scorching lands, the parched farms
But the forests smiled little
For the peacock didn't dance.

oh, how could he, when there were none to appreciate him
Ah, how his once fluttering feathers lay clenched
Their beauty, undiminished, had yet lost their grace,
After the pea-hen died.

His eyes watched the rain, but the lovely blue wonders didn't even twitch.
For whom would he fan his pride,
the taste of loneliness still afresh!!

And now, was he inside a cage
A few tall creatures did visit him everyday.
Making foreign noises, throwing pebbles.
He couldn't delight them.

His love gone, his feathers lay low
His dance was for his queen, not for the men on street.
