Yuno Gasai is a young girl with pink eyes and long pink hair that she wears in pigtails and is well endowed for her age. Her most common attire consists of blue shirt with a ribbon on her chest and blue skirt with high socks. For better descriptions look at pictures.

Yuno's personality is an ambiguous one, for the most part she is a sweet, feminine and sometimes shy girl when around Negi Springfield. This masked her darker side that is of a ruthless, cold and calculating sociopath who has little if any problem in using others for her ends, that is her and Negi's survival. She will resort to cruel and mostly violent methods that most of the time end in bloody deaths of any person who opposes her, effectively making her a Yandere.
Negi becomes Yuno's main focus in life after he gives her something to live for.
However, she was not always insane. Her brutal personality is a result of circumstances surrounding her life, mostly the abuse she endured by her mother and the absence of her father, which finally ended with their deaths two years prior to the Great Shinobi War. This was the beginning of her changes, as she later became quite lonely and sorrowful. So from the point onwards of when Negi told her they would marry when they grew up, it was the pillar of support she needed, and her obsession for Negi grew to escalating proportions. Willing to harm those whom she believes will take Negi away from her.

Yuno Gasai was born in the Land of Iron. Although she was poor, she lived a very happy life together with her mom and dad. Her dad was a swordsmith, and taught her all there was to know about swords from an early age. Yuno being very intelligent, she began to watch her father hoping to pick up his crafting skills. She became extremely skilled in the arts of crafting swords, and her father hoping to harvest her talent, gave her Kenjutsu lessons. Being extremely smart her father was very proud of her, and Yuno was happy because her father showed her great affection.
Soon she would come to realize, that this happiness would only shortly last... Yuno's father began to envy her, she was extremely skilled at making swords, even the great lords near the village requested her swords, soon Yuno's work became more popular than that of her father.He began to despise her and harbor a tremendous hate towards her. One day Yuno woke up to find a note from her father, he had gone out to travel and search for a new style of Kenjutsu, this made Yuno terribly sad, but she had to keep a strong front to help her mother. Yuno's Mother fell under a great depression, she was madly in love with Yuno's father, but now that he was gone for an unprecedented amount of time, Yuno's mother fell under a great depression and began to take it out on Yuno. Her mother would cage her for hours without food and punish her for not being the perfect mother, she would tell Yuno how she never wanted her and how she was a burden for her and her father. After her father's return, her mother's mistreatment still continued and aided by her father. Yuno's behavior was the result of her parents, who used to be loving parents before becoming demanding and pressuring their daughter to be the perfect citizen to the point they would lock her up in a cage and only allowed her certain amount of time for her to sleep and how much food she ate.
Their treatment drove Yuno insane up to the point that she locked her parents in the same cage, hoping they would realize how she felt and change back to their old-selves only for them to die of hunger. To hide her parents' death, she made a cover story that they were working in another village, she fled to Kumogakure, taking her trusted Katana with her, roaming through the endless forests she found a small kid a bit younger than her, she was excited when she saw how awesome he was and she fell completely in love with him. She talked to him and introduced herself, this is how she met Negi, having fallen for him even though she was older than him she swore to herself never to leave his side and to protect him with her life. After being together for quite a while they decided to embark on an adventure around the world.

Yuno posesses great and cunning intelligence, which has saved both Negi and herself in several times. She makes up most of the plans the duo uses to save themselves from the attack of enemies, as well as quickly determinate the weaknesses of certain people. Her intelligence being her greatest asset.
Weapon Mastery
Her perhaps most fearsome ability along with her great intelligence is her mastery skill in basically all types of weaponry, mostly blades, such as knives and axes.
Stealth
She has also demonstrated to be quite skilled in infiltration, as she has in more than one occassion entered a building unnoticed even while it was heavily guarded by enemy troops.

Also despite her feminine appearance, Yuno has demonstrated impressive feats of physical strength mostly when angered.
