A lot of people still debate that Kabuto doesn't match up to anywhere near Orochimaru's level. Where many others say that Kabuto surpassed him, mastered Senjutsu, achieved Sage Mode etc. So what do you personally think on this matter and why?

A lot of people argue that Kabuto just stole Orochimaru's power, plain black and white... But this isn't the whole picture, yes Kabuto did take Orochimaru's DNA but he trained hard to learn his abilities and master Sage Mode, combined with his and Orochimaru's research of the sound 4. What's the point in having a compass when you don't even know how to use it? You can't just wake up one morning, click your fingers and boom you're a sage. You've got to have the mental capacity, the stamina, the intelligence, the patience and the power to become a sage. So this argument is invalid and people who use it have no idea what they're talking about

Orochimaru did conduct a lot of his research along with Kabuto which is where Kabuto learned the secrets of Edo Tensei from (and later perfecting) so it is fair to say that a lot of what Kabuto knows is thanks to Orochimaru. The sound four/taka owe their power to Orochimaru and Kabuto.

Orochimaru was the one who gave Kabuto the chance to leave Root and join him in conducting research and following plans. So again people could argue that Kabuto wouldn't be where he is now without Orochimaru.

Over the years Kabuto prepared special medicine for Orochimaru which allowed him to maintain much of his stamina and strength. This allowed Orochimaru to remain as the ultimate powerful bad guy in Naruto part 1 and kept him very much alive when he started to worsen.

Kabuto became the mastermind behind the fourth great Shinobi World War. He controlled hundreds of Edos, brought back many powerful Ninja especially Madara. Made the Zetsu's 100 times stronger and managed to succeed Orochimaru in terms of power. Orochimaru now seemed like a shadow to what Kabuto had become.

Orochimaru does owe a lot of what he found out about the Akatsuki, Konoha, Naruto and quite alot of stuff due to the sneakiness of Kabuto who gathered loads of info on everyone and no one even suspected him until later. The ultimate spy.

Orochimaru... The ultimate Naruto villain as many will agree on, the true villain of Naruto that everyone thought was awesome back in the day. Former member of the Akatsuki, one of the legendary sannins, brought out Sasuke's true evil and power. Beat down old man Hiruzen and even when you thought he was gone... He came back again, that's how you know he's the shit. What a boss.

Kabuto... Tell me, when you saw this nerdy little weakling in part 1 did you ever in your wildest dreams expect him to become one of the top 10 (or even top 5) most powerful alive Ninjas in the entire series? Cus I certainly didn't. Look at what's done, he saves Sasuke's sorry ass and allowed him to achieve the rinnegan! Sasuke fans better love him for that. Brought back Madara in the first place, Madara fans better love him for that. You just can't deny Kabuto's impact and power.
