At first, I thought he was just overall talking to Naruto. Because:

However, at NF, someone's comment got me thinking. The discussion starts off like this:

Then after viewing both Naruto, and Bolt (with the Byakugan), he states this:

But here's where I'm confused. Why would Momoshiki be referring to Naruto's fate, when he:

I.

before (Boruto was here too, but obviously the target was Naruto aka focus).

II. Held Naruto captive for hours and basically had him under his care. The only person he didn't actually take notice of or cared about, was Bolt, until he found out he was Naruto's offspring.

The last 'implication' of this goes back to what I was showing you earlier. After Momoshiki states

, the next panel goes towards Boruto alone.

This is all speculative by the way, no theories beyond who he was talking to.

I thought the same thing at first too, but that's because I didn't really look at the panels carefully. It wouldn't make sense for him to look at Naruto, and say what he did. Because he already looked at Naruto prior with his Byakugan, and the only other person he never really looked at was his son.

So it's confusing.

Cannot say for certain. What they theorized is that:

When Momoshiki saw Boruto with his Byakugan, he saw something, hence the interesting fate quote. Then Momoshiki goes on to say that it's a pity he cannot pass down his power onto Boruto, unlike he (and Kinshiki).

Since we are not completely sure if he's talking to Naruto, or Boruto, and if he is talking to Boruto, we aren't sure what he's referring to which makes it 'interesting' anyway... It's a dead end for now, unless it gets picked up in the next chapter.

Overall I just wanted to see if it made sense or not, the idea that he might be referring to Boruto before he tells Naruto he can't pass down his power unlike the Otsutsuki.

If the theory is right, this plot point might even show up in the future.

I'd say so, considering he makes that comment after acknowledging Boruto and looking at him with Byakugan.

He's either referring to Boruto directly, possibly about the power Boruto and Kawaki later are shown with, or referring to Naruto and how he will react to and deal with said new power.

I don't remember Momo saying this in the movie, so it's something that's connected to the manga events. The new tattoo powers are the only thing it can really be referring to.

I'm not 100% sure if anyone can see Indra/Ashura in Naruto or Sasuke respectfully other than Hagoromo. No one else has until he met them, but it was sort of dropped on us last minute.

Momoshiki saw Kurama in Naruto when he went to capture him earlier. Although, I'm not sure if he see's Kurama in Bolt.

Agreed. I would really like the idea of them dropping some flash forward hints while the Movie is undergoing. That would make this rehash a lot more bearable.

I figured you were confused LOL. To clarify, the scene where Momoshiki talks about the interesting fate, never happened in the Boruto Movie. Interesting enough, it did not happen in the Boruto Movie Novel, which is what Ukyo did by himself.

Now that I think about it, it is entirely possible Momo's Byakugan is special.

He seemed to notice something after looking at Boruto, but Hinata didn't see anything odd when she used her Byakugan on Boruto. (aside from the ninja tool he was wearing)

Kaguya's Byakugan also seemed special. She could see Ashura and Indra's chakra in Naruto and Sasuke, which no other Byakugan user could see, apparently.

Maybe eating the chakra fruit has something to do with it.

This is all speculative by the way, no theories beyond who he was talking to.

The way I understand is momoshiki is either addressing naruto or the kyuubi by referring to him as fox when he sees his kid he notices his considerably less chakra reserves either just in general or small amounts of kyuubi chakra leaked into him.

He says that to show in the okutsuki clan they can get stronger by absorbing the power of the old generation
