You Know What Really Grinds My Gears!?

The continuity in Pokemon! I was just doing some reading up on it, and Ash is still 10 years old! This tells me a couple of things:

1. The Pokemon world is the size of a shoe box.

2. Ash must never, ever, ever sleep at all.

3. Days in the Pokemon world last a few days and nights are like 12 hours.

Okay, what I said above is complete BS (obviously), but seriously. This is a show that has progression, follows a story and the characters learn from their mistakes and such.

With Ash's new animation style, his new gear and his voice change, they could have at least aged him up to 13 at the very least. I am supposed to really think that Ash traveled a majority of the Pokemon world, obtained all those badges, etc, etc under a freaking year?

Ash started his adventure at age 10... and he is still age.

That is what grinds my gears. This has to be one of the only animes I have watched that does not have any actual age progression at all.

I was watching it until new pokemons arrived, like 10 years ago, could anyone tell me where the new ones came from? And what happend with Brock and Misty like why where they replaced, where did the others come from? And what was up with that special ball?

I mean the Simpsons is the same way.

Once a series reaches a certain popularity the characters become iconic and timeless. We'll probably be in our 30's and ash will still be kicking it in a new region with new pokemon and a new character design. Ash and Pikachu are the pokemon brands icons.
