You know, this never really did add up for me even after all these years

If the exams are plausibly less than once per year and if you are talented like Itachi and can graduate in only 1 year. That sounds like Itachi failed the exams many times in a year and repeated.

Rookie 9 is shown there? I only see Naruto/Sasuke. I know the other Rookie 9 showed up in various places during the Anime flashbacks of the academy but that was only in that particular year that Naruto finally graduated.

Nobody cares about the 2 years prior that Naruto had enrolled and failed in because nobody else was supposed to be in those years with him, except logically Neji/Tenten/Lee but their introduction later on as unknown characters to Naruto later in the manga doesn't allow us to be shown that as it would rip open a space-time hole even deadlier than the Kamui.

And by manga facts: Sasuke would have been in those 2 years prior as well if they were supposed to be enrolled in the same year together and they graduated the same year together, but Naruto failed 2 years in a row.

That must mean?

I say it must mean Kishi forgot facts from part 1 when he was writing parts of Shippuden

We must get down to the dirty underworld that is the Genin-child slave trade of the missing 18 Genin from that graduating year. 27 Graduated and Became Genin, only 9 were ever seen again.
no i'm pretty sure we saw ino sakura hinata shino kiba akamaru (and possibly chouji shikamaru) in the background when young sasuke/naruto fought.

Yes, we did. They all made backround appearances from what I can remember which is to be expected as they were all in that particular class during that time. In that particular year that we know Naruto finally graduated in according to manga fax in chapter 1.

But manga facts also tells us he failed 2 times prior to that; and we have deduced that most likely ninja academy runs on a half-year basis for each class.

Manga Facts also tell us Sasuke and Naruto were to be enrolled in the same class together.

What you are overlooking is that the class with Ino/Sakura/Shika/Kiba etc is not neccessarily the first class they were in just because it is the only class the anime decides to show them in. In fact the manga facts actually tell us that was NOT the first class they were in as there were 2 prior graduation failures. They were in 2 other classes before then with other ninjas.

Or are you suggesting that the more unlikely explanation is in fact the one that is true?: ALL of the ninja Genin 9 Failed the Academy Graduation, twice. It is the only other way to add everything up.

It is just likely an oversight when the Minato Chapters were written that caused all of this but it is what it is.

a more logical route is assuming there's 3 exams in a year

It is just Kishi forgetting Part 1 manga facts when he wrote parts of Shippuden, probably.

But look what happened from it. The Genius Sasuke was really a nogood flunk-out; same as Naruto. Who'd have thought?

I'm just having fun with the Academies Inconsistencies.

Inconsistencies are never fun, but r fun to laugh at.
I dont see the problem here, maybe because it is
5am and i have been up all night. Btw try to get those images to work and i would like those chapters' mumbers

27 graduates, but only 3 teams pass their sensei's test. The rest were sent back to the academy

Yes but they were to be enrolled in the same class as pointed out in the OP which if held to be true to that plan would mean that Sasuke failed 2 years in a row along with Naruto. Which is why things aren't making sense at the Academy

Though with all of the parents well.... dying; I suppose some things are bound to get a bit screwy.

It's likely Sasuke just didn't show up to class and that's why he failed.
