So. Sasuke and Naruto are going to be in the same grade. And Naruto failed to graduate 2 years in a row.


Logic dictates Sasuke must have also failed 2 years in a row as they were in the same graduating class that went on to get sorted into 4 man squads afterwards. If they graduated 2 years apart then they would have been sorted into different squads at different times.

(You know, like how Neji/Tenten/Lee were sorted the year prior as that is when they graduated. Then it is strange that Naruto only met them for the first time when they were introduced as he SHOULD have been in their class the year prior when he failed to graduate in that year)

OUR class. You know the one that he graduated as a part of that particular year. That had Sasuke in it. Naruto and Sasuke graduated in the same year.

Either Sasuke Failed 2 years in a row as well so they ended up in the same graduating class OR Sasuke was enrolled 2 years late into the Academy. What are the odds his mother KNEW that Sasuke would be enrolled 2 years late in order for everything to add up? Did she plan on holding back his enrollment all along?

But then the ages do not match up as Naruto was supposed to have been 2 years older than those of his graduating class. Unless Naruto was enrolled 2 years early into the Academy in order for everything to turn out the way it did.

The thing about deductive reasoning is that the simpler solution is usually the correct one. I am led to believe that there were 2 failed years in a row prior



Also if Sasuke was enrolled 2 years late into Ninja Academy then Hiruzen is to blame for it.
He was supposed to take custody of Sasuke after the Uchiha Incident. Or maybe that part is non-canon as I can only remember seeing that during the most recent filler arc.

Though I believe that arc to be fairly canon as do a lot of the NB members.

We know that Sasuke was in the Academy when the clan was massacred.

Maybe Sasuke joined later and thus took the exam later, or didn't take the exam for some reason.

all 9 of this year's rookie genin. Yet earlier we learned that the same year produced 27 graduates. Either this is another terrible oversight as there were 27 graduates yet how can there only be 9 genin that year when 27 graduated and became Genin.

Maybe the year is divided up into 3 month classes or something. But then why would they refer to "This year's 9 Genin" in terms of years instead of "all 9 Genin of our Class". There was 27 Genin that year whom had graduated.

Yes but they were to be enrolled in the same class as pointed out in the OP which if held to be true to that plan would mean that Sasuke failed 2 years in a row along with Naruto. Which is why things aren't making sense at the Academy

Though with all of the parents well.... dying; I suppose some things are bound to get a bit screwy.

Similar to how Elementary school classes went? Morning/Afternoon seperate class. half a year only for a total of 4 classes? Even then Naruto/Sasuke would had to have repeated at least 1 full year at the Academy as they had to have failed 2 prior Graduation exams. They would have still been enrolled originally in the same year as Lee/Tenten/Neji. The year prior.

I suppose it is plausible but logical deduction and hypothesis state that most often the simplest explanation is the likely one.

Based on all the information provided to us; Sasuke failed the Academy 2 years in a row along with Naruto and Naruto/Sasuke completely overlooked/forgot who the classmates from their prior years were due to ninja-amnesia and plot-introductions

If the exams are plausibly less than once per year and if you are talented like Itachi and can graduate in only 1 year. That sounds like Itachi failed the exams many times in a year and repeated.

Rookie 9 is shown there? I only see Naruto/Sasuke. I know the other Rookie 9 showed up in various places during the Anime flashbacks of the academy but that was only in that particular year that Naruto finally graduated.

Nobody cares about the 2 years prior that Naruto had enrolled and failed in because nobody else was supposed to be in those years with him, except logically Neji/Tenten/Lee but their introduction later on as unknown characters to Naruto later in the manga doesn't allow us to be shown that as it would rip open a space-time hole even deadlier than the Kamui.

And by manga facts: Sasuke would have been in those 2 years prior as well if they were supposed to be enrolled in the same year together and they graduated the same year together, but Naruto failed 2 years in a row.

That must mean?


I say it must mean Kishi forgot facts from part 1 when he was writing parts of Shippuden

We must get down to the dirty underworld that is the Genin-child slave trade of the missing 18 Genin from that graduating year. 27 Graduated and Became Genin, only 9 were ever seen again.

But look what happened from it. The Genius Sasuke was really a nogood flunk-out; same as Naruto. Who'd have thought?
