I've probably seen this phrase at least 500 times here:
"Itachi is the deepest, most well written character on naruto, and maybe all of manga".
while i won't go into why thats not true and you are all just easily impressed but lack the eye for good literature to tell what a REALLY deep character is (there are few manga characters i'd call "deep" because manga typically isn't really "high level writing"), I'll save that for another day .
But you all ACTUALLY thought him being good was a big twist?
If you couldn't tell half way through part 1 that itachi was going to be a good guy, I can't really help you.
He spoke in riddles because 1) kishi didn't know the EXACT route he was going to take him and 2) he wanted to leave an opening for him to be a good guy.
People kept saying "why did he kill his family". It was such a vague story, it really should have been a red flag that we were missing something.
I was hoping for a big reveal or something, but in the end, "he's good". It really didn't wow me, but thats manga for you.
I'm just curious, did you all REALLY not know he was good? my 12 year old self thought it was fairly damn obvious :/
