Omniscient Narrator Point Of View:
There she stood, in the middle of nothing. Her eyes opened widely in shock her was mouth dry, having the marks of a slight trauma.
Her eyes refused to cry. They felt like it would only take one single word of him to make them burst into tears. Only one?
The young black haired man stood only a few inches behind her. Not holding her. She didn't turn around. She didn't want to see his face. Not anymore and never again. But she could feel his warm breath trailing down on her neck, giving her even more shivers. There was only one thing that kept her up her feet despite all her trembling: curiosity about how it will go on.
''Long time no see?love'' his voice said in a soft and cold tone from behind. She flinched at the sound of it. He rested his left hand on her left shoulder, his fingers of the right hand made their way to brush her beautiful light blonde hair away, revealing the skin of her neck. She could feel the warmth of his face. It was getting closer. Why couldn't she just turn around to look into his eyes? Or why couldn't she just run away? Leaving him behind like he had 1 year ago?
''You belong to me...!'' he said low and his lips slightly affected her neck, giving her even more shivers. Her legs were getting weaker. The tense of the situation was just too immense.
Wha...what do..you...want here? she cracked and asked with her shaking voice. Her eyes were opened widely. Still under shock; still too afraid to turn around and face him.
??I?ll be back for you??? he said and something felt weird now.
The warmth of the body behind her was gone. What happened? Did he leave?
She hesitantly turned her head slightly to the side only enough for her to see if someone was still standing behind her.
No one did. She exhaled at the fact that her beautiful nightmare left and she formed a single tear at the other fact that he took a piece of her heart with him - yet again another piece. She wasn't sure if there was still something left. The sooner he took everything, the better.
It?d make the probability even higher of forgetting about him for good.
Her legs were still weak. Her fingers still cold. She still couldn't walk. Not even move a little bit. Her legs simply refused.
''Why? did he? come back?'' she mentally questioned and shook her head, now finally regaining some control of her body back, after standing there for more than five minutes.
''I was sure I'm over him...but...I'm not'' she thought and slowly walked ahead and found her complete strength with each step she was able to walk and soon returned to the hidden leaf. Her mission was finished; it wasn?t a tough one. Just collecting some information?
But if she knew what she?d find and lose at the same time she definitely would have done anything to get rid of this mission before she even accepted doing it.
She slowly entered the gates of Konoha again.
''Hey Eve!'' a familiar voice shouted out to her. She turned around just to see her best friend Shikamaru.
''How was your mission?'' he asked and casually walked up to her, his hands resting in the pockets of his pants.
Eve remained quiet. She wanted to talk. She wanted to tell him what happened. But her voice didn't play this game with her, again something of her body that didn?t work as she wanted.
She looked down to the ground, unable to say something.
Shikamaru looked at her doubtfully and the laziness in his eyes was now replaced with worry.
??What?s wrong??? he asked and placed his hand on her shoulder, trying to make her look into his eyes but she refused. Right now she couldn?t even hear a male voice; it made her tremble and shiver. He, Sasuke, had come back to the village. He abandoned it like he had abandoned her. And now he was back; simply back without knowing what his sudden appearance caused. It caused her heart ache. It caused her any emotional ache that even existed; any possible psychic pain.
And she wasn?t able to bear it. She simply couldn?t take it. Yes, she felt helpless. Helpless because she wasn?t able to stop it; it just happened. Even if she didn?t want it to; it just did. And that was the scariest thing of all: The unknown things that could happen. Unknown things that destiny had planned for her long before she could even consider him coming back.
??Why didn?t you just stay where you are? Sa?suke??? she mentally asked herself as she kicked a shadow clone of Shikamaru. They had made their way to the training field and now she is fighting; trying her anger to slow down; maybe even fade away and slowly forget about what happened today. ??I can?t believe it!?? she said as she punched another shadow clone of Shikamaru; making it poof away.
Eve was running towards another clone; but out of a sudden she crashed to the ground, crying. She tried to hide all the emotions, only letting them out whilst punching and training but that didn?t work. It was the wrong way and now she couldn?t hold back any longer:

Shikamaru ran towards her as fast as he could; kneeling down to the ground she was crying at, patting and hugging her. Trying hell whatever to understand. Trying to make her talk; finally make her talk about what happened. ??Talk, Eve?? he demanded. Eve knew he wouldn?t stop until he found out. Now that he had seen her like this, she had to tell him.
??He just came back, Shika, he was just there and?and??? she started and sobbed after finishing her last word, trying to collect the happening and form them to information while Shikamaru listened.
??Who, Eve, who??? he asked and looked into her eyes deeply, holding her face in both hands while concern marked his eyes.
??Sa..su..ke?? she said and with calling out his name she thought her heart would explode in ten million pieces, feeling like she?d suffocate.
Shikamaru raised his eyebrows; looking at her and then back again; thinking of something on his own.
??Why did he come back? He could be a real danger for our village?? he thought to himself as he still rubbed the back of Eve.
??We have to report that, Eve. Tsunade must know?? He said as he didn?t stop to rub her back.
The word ?we? made her inner smile. ??We?? meant she wasn?t alone. ??We?? was a replacement for anything Sasuke made her feel after he left: lonely.
She looked up to her best friend and huddled against his chest, remaining like that for a short moment; enjoying that someone was there for her. He always was; and she appreciated that to no countable amount. And for no countable amount she?d let that go. But still; why did Tsunade have to know?
??I don?t want to, I ? ?? but Shikamaru interrupted her, holding her wrists to his chest.
He knew she didn?t want to talk about that to the Hokage. She took her time by even telling him; her best friend. But right now; the village was in danger. Well, maybe.
??He may attack us and we need to take precautions if something like that happens?? he said calm and in an understandable way. His tone was clear though; which meant it was a sort of order. She sighed at that and nodded. He once more rubbed her back and pulled her up as they walked ahead to Tsunades office, entering it as they got called in by Shizune.
??Hey guys, what is it? Eve? I?ve already received the information of your mission?? Tsunade said as she turned around from facing the window and wondered about Eve?s appearance while Shikamaru stood behind her.
??No?there is one missing?? she said softly and Tsunade listened.
??Go on then?? Tsunade said and sat down on her chair, resting her elbows on her desk with her chin on her folded hands while Eve told her about the whole unpredicted meeting with her former love of her life; Sasuke.
??So he?ll be back, huh??? she said and closed her eyes in pure concentration when Shizune looked at her and seemed to worry a little but remained quiet aswell.
??Thanks for letting us know, Eve?? Tsunade said and waved the both shinobis off.
??Tsunade-sama, what...will you...do now??? Eve asked and Shikamaru walked to her side, slightly wrapping an arm around her shoulder to tell her it?s time to leave and that Tsunades decision isn?t discussable.
She slowly walked with him but turned around once more to look at Tsunades face; trying to read her mind by the expression she had shown but then stepped out of her office.
??What do you think about that, Shizune??? Tsunade asked her real serious while her hands were still locked together. Her hazel eyes were looking straight towards the door that had just shut.
??I don?t know, Tsunade-sama. Sasuke betrayed Konoha with the day he left?? she simply said and tried to watch her words.
??Yeah?Funny, don?t you think? Naruto wasn?t able to even get to see Sasuke after he left Konoha. And unlike Eve, he was looking for him ever since. Well?if she is able to get him back; she should.?? Tsunade said as she closed her eyes.
??It is said; those who strive for something they can?t possess get taught better one day. And those who let it go will achieve their very wishes?? Shizune said as she gave Tsunade some paperwork to go on with her daily routine.
??Are you sure you want to be left alone??? Shikamaru asked the young blonde girl with the sparkling blue-green eyes in front of him.
??Yes, It?s okay, really. I?ll be fine, don?t worry?? she said as they both stood in front of her small flat she was living in.
??Okay then?? Shikamaru said ??but you?ll get me if you need me, heard me?!?? and continued with his speech. Eve had to chuckle on that and nodded with a smile which he returned.
He then waited till she walked inside and then slowly made his way to his own home down the street.
Eve stepped in and put her jacket into the wardrobe while taking off her shoes. She yawned at the fact how exhausting this day was and walked along the short hall of her flat until she heard something behind her. She turned around fast to see nothing being there. She stood quiet, trying to hear some steps or something else. But nothing happened.
??I think I?m just very tired?? she said when she was about to turn around and continue her way when she shrieked and backed away with her eyes widening. Then exhaled.
??Geez, don?t startle me like that Blacky!?? she said to her cat as she removed her hand from her heart. Blacky only meowed and Eve knew what he wanted: food!
??Ooowww, I?m so sorry! You must be very hungry?? she said as she walked ahead to the cupboard where she had the food for her cat. ??Yeah, Yeah. Chill. I?ll feed you?? she said as she opened it and picked out the cats food.
??No need for that. I?ve already done it?? a voice she just knew too good said calm and his hand closed the cupboard Eve was standing before. Her eyes shot up. She dropped the food to the ground as her trembling began again. Her whole body was shaking. She was scared to turn to the side. To see him again. She was just too scared to do it; she froze. Sasuke was here again.
??Get?out?of ?my?.house?? she said quietly; but enough to hear through her cracking voice.
??And if I don?t??? he asked in a mocking way; still standing there. Absolutely calm; like nothing could affect him.
??Why are you torturing me like that..??? she asked and Sasuke could tell she was about to cry soon. ??Am I??? he asked simply while Blacky ate the dropped food on the ground.
??Yes?you. Are?? she said and her voice wambled a bit.
??I won?t do it again then?? he said and walked closer, she could feel his breath on her skin again; it made her shiver.
??Look at me Eve?? he said and his voice was clearly audible. It was a demand. But she didn?t want to do what he wanted her to. She wanted to do what was on her mind; what her mind told her. But also her heart talked a language?a language she didn?t want to listen to. A language she didn?t want to understand after Sasuke had left. A language that only a few people were able to speak if they really experienced the true meaning of love. It was the language of her heart; the organ that was able to say ??I love you?? in each possible language. Yet, she didn?t want to listen to what it said; but it got louder with each moment Sasuke was there. And he was; and he seemed as if he had something on his mind, an own language to speak, loud and clearly. And one thing for sure: inescapable.
??I said. LOOK at me!?? he demanded and yet he sounded very serious. A sort of aggressiveness was hidden between his few words.
Eve slowly turned around; every inch she moved was plain aching. When she turned to his direction, her eyes trailed from the ground, seeing his feet, to his legs, up his free chest, to his neck and jaw line and finally directly in his face; hesitantly looking into his black eyes. His face expression was apathetic. He stepped closer, closing 2/3 of the space between them; looking at her as he brushed her cheek with the back of his hand, then put his index finger under her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes.
She wanted to say something but he interrupted her.
??I never stopped loving you?? he said and he even sounded sincerely. But still; if he did; why did he leave her behind? He didn?t even say Good Bye. He was just gone.
Others had told her where her boyfriend was. That he left to train with Orochimaru.
Other people knew better. OTHERS!
??Bullshit?? she said and turned her face away again; but he roughly grabbed it back.
??Don?t dare to raise questions about my love towards you?? he said and his eyebrows narrowed; showing emotions finally.
??Why did you leave then!?! You broke my heart! It fell apart; in thousand of pieces! Just my heart, huh? Come on!! Why don?t you step on it again? It?s not like I have feelings, now do I!??? she cried out and wanted to leave; but he grabbed her again; roughly slamming her against the cupboard, kissing her with such an intense it was impossible to work against.
At first she tried to struggle herself free. But that didn?t work with him; he didn?t care if she wanted this or not; simply because he knew she did want it, like he wanted it.
He then let go of her lips.
??Calmed down again or should I continue??? he asked and grinned a little. She remained silent and just looked at him; wanting him to explain before she lost it and cried out again.
??I left you because I love you. I know. This sounds stupid to you. But if you?d just see with my eyes, feel with my heart, you would understand?? he said as he kissed her cheek and continued to talk.
??I couldn?t take the risk that somebody touched you. I couldn?t take the risk of you getting injured; taking the risk of losing the love of my life. I needed to make sure Itachi didn?t know about you. He could have taken you away from me. Eve; listen! You weren?t alone. I was here often. I always took care of you?even if you didn?t see me?? he said and tightened the hold of her waist even more. She looked up to him. ??Now it makes sense?? she thought to herself as he continued to talk.
??I?m done with what I had to do. I killed him. And now?I?m taking back what?s mine?? Sasuke said and Eve?s eyes widened. She knew he talked about his brother; the cause of their parents death and the reason for his training ever since.
His lips crashed onto hers again; but yet she even wanted it. Yet she didn?t care about losing her tears as one single streamed down her ros? cheeks. Happy he was here again; happy everything made sense now.
??I love you?? he said as he broke the kiss and held he face in both of his hands; smiling at her and looking into her eyes deeply.
??I love you, too?? she replied and they both got lost in the kiss again.
??By the way?.?? Eve started and smiled, thinking of Naruto.
??Hm??? Sasuke asked curious as he brushed her cheek.
??I bet Naruto would be happy to see you again?? she said, thinking of how often Naruto tried to convince Sasuke. Yet, no one was able to do it. Except her?
Sasuke rolled his eyes and laughed.
??Is that loser still trying??? Eve nodded and he wrapped his arms around her shoulder as they happily walked up to Naruto.
