You are wrong if you say that powerful battles have no strategy or aren't ninja like.

People say that they like weak battles because part 2 battles have become DBZ like and have no strategy. That is so far from the truth that the sun is closer to the earth than that statement is to the truth!

Examples:

Naruto/Bee/Kakashi/Guy vs. Obito (with mask): You can not honestly say that Kakashi's deduction of the mechanics behind kamui was not the result of good strategizing.

Madara vs 5 kage: Do you guys remember that final giant jinton that the 5 kages did before Madara pulled out final susanoo? That was the result of strategizing. The kages perfectly planned out that Madara would have to release susanoo in order to absorb the jutsu and that if he did release susanoo he would get electrocuted by the electric soap bubbles. This would allow Onoki to hit him with another jinton and Gaara would then seal him. This plan was perfect! It would have worked if it hadn't been for perfect susanoo. This is another perfect example of how powerful battles still have strategizing.

Shinobi alliance vs Madara/Obito/Juubi: Let's not forget about that brilliant plan that trapped the juubi in a concrete prison for a brief moment. Shikaku planned that out by analyzing the villages' different jutsus. There was also Shikaku's final plan which was to have Naruto give everyone Kyuubi cloaks so that the ino-shika-cho clans would have enough chakara to restrain the juubi long enough for the shinobi alliance to knock Madara and Obito off of the juubi. This plan worked perfectly! The cloaks even continued to come in handy as they protected the alliance from certain death many times! This was excellent strategizing! There was also that plan where Kakashi warped Gyuki to the juubi's eye to shoot that bijuudama. That was another example of strategizing.

The battle against 10 tails Obito: Do you remember that tree with 4 bijuudamas (the one that was going to doom everyone)? Naruto's planning saved them all. Naruto even verified with Minato to see if his plan to warp the whole alliance using the cloaks would work. That is not someone that someone would just instinctively think to do. Not even Shikamaru thought of that. That took some real strategizing. There was also that time when Obito grabbed Naruto and Sasuke's faces. If it wasn't for Naruto's idea to grab Minato with a chakara arm, Naruto and Sasuke would have been history. Finally, there was also Naruto and Kurama's plan to split the juubi back up into the bijuus. You can not say that everyone already knew to do that (or that everyone even knew how to do that). This actually did take some planning on the part of Naruto and Kurama. Therefore you can not say that this battle did not have strategizing!

Naruto/Bee/Itachi vs Nagato: Itachi gave Naruto a detailed analysis of chibaku tensei and its weakness. He then came up with a strategy to counter it and defeat Nagato. How is that not strategizing?

Sasuke and Itachi vs Kabuto: Izanami was all apart of Itachi's plan to stop edo tensei. If Itachi didn't go into this battle having this strategy planned out, then he and Sasuke would have either been defeated or they would have killed Kabuto (which they could not do if they wanted to stop edo tensei). This battle was a clear example of strategizing. There was also the time that the bros got caught under Tayuya's genjutsu. It was planning that allowed them to come up with the idea to put eachother under genjutsu in order to break Tayuya's. Therefore this battle had plenty of strategizing to it.

Naruto vs the 3rd raikage: This battle was practically all strategizing. Naruto got intel from Gyuki about the tiniest detail on the raikage's body. With this little information, Naruto was able to form a hypothesis about how to injure the raikage. Naruto then knew to go into sage mode to avoid the raikage's dangerous speed blitz. He was then able to confirm his hypothesis and beat the raikage. Naruto basically used the scientific method. He made an observation about the scar on the raikage's chest. He then collected data from Gyuki about how the scar was obtained. From this data, he formed a hypothesis. He then tested this hypothesis with a rasengan. After beating the raikage, he was able to come to the conclusion that his hypothesis was correct. This was a perfect application of the scientific method. You know that strategizing took place when the scientific method gets involved.

Gaara vs the 2nd mizukage: Gaara knew that the joki boy was too fast for his sand to catch. That is why he came up with the plan to slow down the joki boy by putting gold in it, thus giving it more weight. That was a good strategy by Gaara.

Kakashi's platoon vs Zabuza/Haku/other kekkei genkai shinobi: Kakashi came up with that strategy for getting close to Zabuza and tapping him in the Naara guy's shadow. This plan ultimately worked. This was another example of strategizing.

Naruto vs. Pain: Naruto knew that he couldn't gather sage chakara in the midst of battle. That is why he came up with the strategy to leave two shadow clones at mount myoboku gathering nature energy. He also had a bunch of shadow clones transformed into rubble in order to take Pain by surprise. This was a great example of strategizing.

The list of powerful battles that still contained strategizing goes on and on! Therefore you are lying if you say that these "OP battles" don't have strategizing. You therefore have no reason whatsoever to hate on power! Don't give me that crap about it not being ninja like! Ninjas use strategy and I have clearly demonstrated that strategy is very prevalent in this manga! Furthermore, you should know that a shounen manga is going to add a little more to a job description than the standard real world definition does. After all, the last time I checked, devil fruits weren't a part of the job descriptions of real world pirates! Neither were stretchy powers or Haki or gear 2! Last time I checked, shooting blue energy beams wasn't in the job description of a chef! I am referencing Toriko here. Clearly other animes also add a more super powered element to the job descriptions of their heroes. The ninjas of the Naruto series are no different! Therefore your argument that it is not ninja like is rendered null and void!

Also don't give me that argument that there is not enough taijutsu. The reason for this is simple. It would be useless for Kishi to just stick to basic martial arts. If all I am going to see is just taijutsu, then why should I waste my thought time on waiting for the manga every Wednesday when I can just look up any old martial arts battle on youtube any day? If Kishi just stuck to taijutsu and shuriken, then the series wouldn't have any originality at all! It would be your typical old boring ninja show! If I just want to see pure hand to hand combat, I can just watch reruns of Walker Texas Ranger on youtube! A manga like this needs to have some power!

Finally, don't give me that crap about Naruto being like DBZ in that it is just a bunch of lasers! Firstly, I spent the bulk of this thread explaining some of the many instances of strategizing in the powerful battles. Furthermore, not many characters actually have laser related techniques. Naruto jutsus actually have effects to them other than just explosions. Think about Hashirama's flower world jutsu or wood dragon. Think about genjutsu or amaterasu. Think about Obito's onmyodon or Onoki's jinton. Think about susanoo or Madara's meteors. These are all examples of jutsus with effects. Explosions may accompany them, but the jutsu also has an actual effect like disassembling molecules, negating ninjutsu or putting someone in an illusionary temporal loop. Therefore Naruto is very different from DBZ where every attack is an energy blast or an energy ball!

In conclusion: You have no legitimate reason to hate powerful battles! If you say that there is no strategy then you are just not paying attention and you need better skills with analysis!

Too much text for something that's basically just an opinion.

I just don't like lasers being fired in a show that was supposed to be about ninjas.

Edit: This also^

I like the way you post.

Very Skip Bayless like. You take peoples opinions, misconstrue them and then falsify them into making it seem like they have no idea what they are talking about.

I hope people stop writing text with quantity over quality, and instead write a normal synopsis or add spoiler tags. Using the other information can be used to respond to questions.

Even if there wasn't I woudn't care. I never liked part 1 anyway ( barely watched any of it cuz it was boring). Part 2 with the monstrous jutsus is the thing for me.

Do you like energy beams in a cooking show? (Toriko)

What about devil fruits in a pirate show? (One piece)

What about black holes in a mafia show? ( Katekyo Hitman Reborn)

What about boys with magic keys? (Kingdom Hearts)

If you keep up with any of these, do you complain about this stuff too? I think the show for you is Walker Texas Ranger or some traditional old ninja show.

I don't watch any of those. In the shows I watch, the power scales are set. People who started off as ninjas don't become DBZ characters.

Sasuke started off using a fireball jutsu against his sensei Kakashi while training to get a bell.
Summoning toads and such are also very ninja like in many stories before naruto.
These things are actually normal ninja *fiction* capabilities.

Well maybe you don't like improvement or progress. Maybe you don't like seeing protagonists getting stronger in order to overcome the more ominous threats that will come as they get older and experience life. I on the other hand like shows that parallel the real world by depicting the fact that in life, you will face more difficult challenges as you age and you will need to improve yourself throughout life in order to adapt to those situations. Things won't always just stay as easy as they were when you were 5 years old! By keeping a "set power scale" you are basically saying that all challenges in life are sure to stay under a certain difficulty level. You severely limit yourself that way and that is an unrealistic view of life. By throwing the power scale out the window, you say that you are ready to rise up to life's challenges regardless of their ever increasing difficulty as you progress through life.

I do. I used to watch them, but I stopped.
I watched One Piece up until the defeat of Crocodile, then I watched Marineford, and I know of Caesar Clown. Beyond that, I have no idea what's going on.

Even DBZ has strategy. How else did Cell and Buu transform? It wasn't raw power.
