Sempai, most of what I know about kenjutsu is written in my pm, so could I just rewrite it or do you want a new fresh one? (I would have to go search more about it on the Internet :()
I want to learn kenjutsu so that I know how to wield my sword instead of doing ninja art with it.

It's fine, it's fine. Just wanted to see if you had any more knowledge about Kenjutsu.

Anyway, before we move on to your training, can you tell me what the difference between a one-handed techniques and two-handed techniques, besides the obvious?

One-handed sword techniques are much more faster but weaker while the two-handed sword techniques are slower but much more powerful in strength. You also got much more control over the sword when using two-handed sword techniques =DD...

Well ,how did I do?

You were close.

One-handed attacks are indeed weaker than two-handed ones, but they can be chained much more quickly than two handed techniques can.

Two-handed techniques strike much harder, and also take less time to make contact (meaning it has a faster striking speed than a one-handed technique, due to the force of two hands), but cannot be chained nearly as quickly.

And you have the right concept, but were wrong about control. One-handed techniques have much more freedom in movement, meaning that you have a wider variety of control of where you want to move the strike, while two-handed techniques have a reduced amount of control in that aspect, since you can't make too odd of a movement, due to needing to keep both hands on the blade.

But, yes, a two handed technique does have more directional control, during the actual attack.

Now, did you understand all that? If you did, then we can truly begin your training.

Alright then.

Now, to begin your training, we'll begin with the most basic of basics - the horizontal attack.

This attack strikes on the horizontal ("X-axis [ <---------> ] "), meaning between left and right.

I'd like you to demonstrate a horizontal slash please, and in detail of your movements.

I pull out a regular katana which i was carrying for the sole purpose of this training. As i take it out, i put both my hands on it's handle and drag it all the way behind me by my left side. As it's on my left, i lift it up a bit up until the height of my chest and then i slice it to the right side (x axis) in a straight, sharp line horizontally.

Very good, but please do it again - without both hands; we're doing one handed techniques right now. ^_^

Alright, after that slash, i release my left hands grip and again pull my katana to my left side as it would be easier to do with the right hand. I then slice the sword all the way to the right, it's as though pulling my right hand back to my right side. It then makes the 'scing' sound as i slice and you can feel the air caused by the slash.

How's that sempai?

Very good. ^_^

Now, next is vertical slashes, which strike on the Y-axis ( | ), or up and down.

Please demonstrate, in detail.

Okie sempai, i bring my sword high up into the air straight and firmly as to not shiver. I then bring my sword downwards, sharp and swiftly which makes the 'scing' sound, while cutting some grass too ^_^...

^_^ Good.

Now, next is the basic stab.

Can you explain what a stab actually is, and how it could be useful in a fight?

If so, please demonstrate one, as well.

Well, a stab is basically just the piercing of your sword to the front. It could be useful in a fight as a swift motion or a set-up for a vertical slash or horizontal one. Example would be, i stab to the front but you duck down, i then do a vertical slash downwards, slicing your head off.

Okay, i grip my sword firmly and pull it backwards. I then thrust my hand to the front, bringing my sword along with me then piercing it in the air to nothing. It makes a 'swoo' sound. I extend my hand to the front to the max as i stab the air.

Excellent. Remember, stabs are not big motions, and are very quick.

Anyway, that concludes the one handed techniques, and so we may now move on to two-handed ones.

Please preform a two-handed horizontal slash, in detail.

I use both my hands to hold the handle of my sword then placing it to my left at the level of my stomach. I then sway my hands towards the right, slashing it.

How was that ^^?

I firm both my hand's grip onto the hilt of my blade and bring it up into the sky. I then swing it downwards onto the groundward with all my might, cutting some grass while i was at it.

Good.

Now, lunges are a bit different than stabs...

Can you tell me the difference between a stab and a lunge is?

How is it done, what are its advantages, and what are its disadvantages?

Stabs are just slashes that go straight into a person piercing them. Stabs might be quick as you say but they give openings to the user's upper body. Lunges are actually jumps towards the enemy, not sure whether they are surprise attacks but, i think that it gives the user speed and shocks the enemy as the user suddenly jumps towards him, hence giving the user a good shot at the enemy. I think lunges can be seen most in the sword fighting, with the rapiers, not sure what the sport is called again >_<...
