It's a proof that the mirror can't protect against every attack , considering that growing takes time , no matter how fast it grows , you didn't bring proofs that it can reach the speed of light.

I never saw that miror deflect anything into the attacker's face.

The yata mirror is said to be "invinisible" and can pretty much block everything, but what you're forgetting is this. This is the databook! I have no doubt the mirror has weak points. However, as I described, it isn't a jutsu, and in my opinion falls under a category of things yet unexplained in the naruto world
