It was shown that Sussano can be activated very quickly as displayed with Itachi. Itachi has shown to be nimble, he could have easily advanced toward CT on the debris and used Yata, but alas, he did not

The only flawed logic I see here is yours.
A shield cant tell if something is an atack or not. A shield should block anything that goes in it's direction, being an atack or not. If you find a shield as big as you and cover you with it, one won't be able to friendly touch you, one won't be able to see you(light isn't getting through the shield)
This is a fact. No shield will tell if it's an atack or not, it will just block everything in it's way.
Throwing a ball is only an atack when it's thrown with enough force to harm you, otherwise, it's not.
But since you wanted light, I mentioned it above.
Yata would the same. But it is transparent, we can see itachi even when he places the shield in front of him. So light goes through the shield, it's simple as that.
There is nothing to prove that yata would be an exception.
If you wanne say hat I shouldn't use a regular shield as a reference, then you might want to prove what would make yata so different that this basic logic wouldn't apply to it. Do you have any evidence to say that yata or spiritual weapons would differ from that logic? If not, then the comparison stands.
Depending on the intensity, sound can harn you, and so can light. It would harm you to the point that you would get blind and deaf.
Baseless assumption? So is yours. We can't see yata when he lets itachi in, so you can't state that as a fact either It's a double standard. And I got something. Itachi was dying, so perhaps he couldnt even keep yata. The fact is: you cant use a doubt, an assumption, as an evidence
Yata and totsuka are not made of itachi's chakra. They' re spiritual weapons that itachi attached to his susanoo. That's why they have itachi's susanoo pattern. Doesn't mean they are made of itachi's chakra. It was stated in the manga that they are weapons. And if they were made of itachi's chakra, nagato could have absorbed totsuka.
Funny way to "disprove things". Totsuka is not yata, but it is a spiritual weapon( just like yata) and it was attached to itachi's susanoo in the same way.
The user of susanoo can let people inside SUSANOO, it was never said the same to yata. As I said, yata is a spiritual weapon, not itachi's chakra.

And how would he know that the 3 atacks would be enough to destroy the core? Did itachi know the core's resistance to know exactly how much damage does it need to be done for it to be destroyed?
Itachi can use his yasata no magatam atack and use yata. If yata could've blocked CT, he would've used it. He was far from the core, but he didn't know if all the atacks would destroy it, and the core had a great gravitational pull. He wasn't miles away either.
