Regarding the universe 7 lineup.
Two races came to mind, who could have been an interesting pick to add to the team instead of one or two others that are currently joined.
Planet Yardrat,
is the planet where Goku learned techniques like the instant transmission from the inhabitants.
It wouldnt be too troublesome to design this Yardrat fighter either.
As the design of that race already exists from dragonball z.
Their fighting style somewhat as well.
The most suitable one of their planet could have joined the team
and go back to his/her homeplanet after the tournament.
So no worries what to do with the character afterwards either.
Another option is someone from the Metamorans.
Goku met someone from this race in other world and was taught the fusion dance. They are a race who is from universe 7 too.
I think it could have been cool to make both or one of these two races join for the tournament.
Who should have been left out to make someone from Yardrat, a Metamoran or both join the team?
Although right now I have come to peace with the universe 7 lineup.
This has to do with a few things.
The tournament team based battle royal no flying techniques, no killing, no weapons format,
the small time window in which the tournament starts,
the old z fighters becoming relevant in a tournament again
and the danger for causing chaos by letting more planets/races in uni 7 know about
possibly getting erased if not winning.
So the Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Buu, Piccolo, #17, #18, Krillin, Tien and Roshi team therefore kinda seems right.
Quite some different races in this team, which is good.
Also interesting is that over half of the team used to be an enemy for a while (Vegeta, Buu, #17, #18, Piccolo and Tien).
Even though they all live on earth the team has only two fullblood earthlings (Krillin and Roshi).
A battle royal with 10 members for each team and 8 teams at the same time.
No flying techniques allowed. Killing not allowed. Weapons not allowed.
This suddenly brings more strategy and teamwork to the table and it can be important therefore to know each other well (Most of the people in uni 7 team know each other really well or have at least met/met in combat.
Even #17 is somewhat aware of Buu as he gave his energy for the spirit bomb to help Goku beat Buu in dragonball z.
Teamwork and techniques become extra important in this tournament, where powerlvl would play a bigger role in a 1v1 format than this battle royal team version.
This all leads to that to some extend you can get away in this tournament with a few members having a lower power lvl,
so that people like master Roshi and Krillin for example can be useful and do well.
Krillin seems to be all pumped up again and training hard. Gohan even had a drop of sweat on his forehead in the preview.
Krillin also invented a new technique.
I am glad to hear that he has, as it will increase the certainty of him being useful.
He is after all the strongest pureblooded earthling and after a long while, should have a moment to shine again.
Again I have come to peace with the current uni7 team lineup, but think that it could have been cool if the two mentioned races would have been part of the team
and I am curious what others think about that.
Do you also feel okay right now with the uni7 team lineup nowadays?
What do you think about the two mentioned races?
Would they have been a good pick?
