It's not a genjutsu of the bat, it's a flash of light, the light is a medium for the genjutsu.

This discussion is, crudely said, stupid O_O
Whether he broke the timeframe or not, the fact still stands that the mist takes a little while to form, and unless he wants to use it at a time where he would completely break the timeframe, he would be partially blinded by the Genjutsu. Even if he somehow manages to avoid the Genjutsu, he will still be captured and crushed by the earth arms, since he uses another jutsu on creating a clone, which IMO is a waste of time. The four pillar bind he makes would take time, and Yard would already have hit him with his Raikiri, not that he would be able to do his four pillar bind when his limbs are being crushed by great earth arms.
Yard, you used the Genjutsu wrongly. There's no spikes, there's just light.
Yard wins, thanks for your time.

I have had a sensei check one of my fights that I used that jutsu on before and he didn't say anything wrong about my move.
Xylon

theres actually a thread in the sensei section about this technique.. and it was agreed that its a visual genjutsu only.. so no paralysis..

Ok I get that but the spikes would still be effective, would they not?

yard, just so you know, your using the lightning illusion wrong, its a visual genjutsu only, you cant paralyse your opponents or restrain them in any physical manner with it

i know what you mean, BUT he said that he makes the opponent see that IN GENJUTSU that he is bound by those chains, not that it REALLY happens
