I think you guys are underestimating the battle skills of Shikaku we havnt really seen his skills but from what I know his analytical skills are double that Shikamaru and Shikamaru stunned Kakashi with his ability to anaylze battle situatuions...even though Yamato has Wood Nature justu i think that Shikaku would capatilize on when Yamato runs out of Chakra
