Hi there. lets get started shall we? ok in order to manipulate water you have to under stand it, feel it, and be able to draw it. *points to a nearby stream*

good. feel the water and begin the channel your chakra into the stream.
make your chakra and the stream one system.
now, if you can, try and use your chakra to hold on orb of water in your hand without it spilling back into the stream

Here is a tip. remember your water walking excersize. you are using chakra to form a barrier on your feet to walk on water. well this is the same thing only you are forming a barrier around the water (not throughout the whole orb)
your chakra should be acting like an invisible water baloon. Right now we are working on containing exsting water. Later we will work on turning your chakra into water.
try again, and this time grab more water and try to compact it with your chakra

should feel the same weight, only the orb should feel tougher.

good. you just became versed in suiton no justu. its not on the list anymore but its a good basis.
now that you know how to hold a shape, try and form a sword out of water. make sure to make it very dense and the blade should be sharp

anyway push the two edges together to make it strong and sharp.
chop that tree down, then I want you to form the sword from your own chakra

awesome, good job.
Now that you know how to materialize your chakra try and do it on a large scale. Focus your chakra all around you and make it condensate. This should give you chakra the appearance of a very think mist. Try to create a Large mist shroud all around the area.
