I don't know, some things in Naruto just don't make sense.
But perhaps it all happened pretty quick and he couldn't react. I don't know but that is how things work in Naruto Manga.

It looked like it happened quickly. One minute Yamato was swallowed, the next he's in Madaras lair.
It was a long time to us, but to the ninjas fighting, it was probably instant.
It is also possible that Kabuto's weird insides prevented him from using ninjutsu, I mean Yamato was all tied up with snakes when he was out...

i think something spicy going on.... i think this is just what Yamato's expected so he can face with Madara and knowing what he planned for... some bug injected to his body so Naruto could trace him (Yamato) and directly to Madara's Lair... i think the next chapter will the preFight between Naruto and Madara but just a Pre....!!!

I've been thinking wood clone aswel. since he wants to remain pressent with naruto to make sure he doesn't go outside, and we know from the naruto(kyubi) vs orochimaru fight that yamato's clones can use jutsu just as effectivly as the real yamato. the clone made that wood bunker to protect himself from the blastwave of one of naruto's attacks

On topic: Could be a wood clone or Yamato was paralyzed etc and couldnt release chakra somehow.
Don't want to spoil everybodies theories here, but he is an fictional charachter. His actions are planned by a writer. So you can assume that since he didn't kill himself or escaped or exploded with wood or whatever that it will affect the storyline. Yamato was a pretty "smart" fighter in the past so maybe they're will be a some surprise.

Perhaps it was planned. Kabuto may have told Yamato to play along. We have seen him leading Leaf to Madaras lair and giving info about Akatsuki to Naruto. I don't know what are his real intentions but its definetly not playing along with Akatsuki, he wants them out of the picture.
What's not clear to me is that why the hell Kabuto needs Yamato when he has the 1st Hokage and his DNA right there????? I mean Yamato got his powers from 1st hokage's cells and DNA right?? So what's the difference b/w 1st hokage and Yamato? Unless Madara has saturated 1st hokages DNA to make all zetsu's he could or whatever... I don't see what's the point of using Yamato.

We will have to wait till Manga515 to see if Kabuto got the real Yamato or a clone, one thing for sure the island is no longer a safe place to keep Naruto and Bee in, that snake will simply smell out its location no matter were they move it.
