You know I thought about it. Konoha obviously knew they had a wood style user in the leaf despite the fact that it was Orochimaru's doing.
Hashirama was the most powerful shinobi because of his unique KG Mokuton. (I realize he was also powerful because of his kenjutsus, medical skills, various scrolls and techniques like Bringer of Darkness but without his Wood Style he would not be the legend he was)
It
-Allowed him control over several tailed beasts in his time
-Created all of Konoha
-Was what allowed him to defeat Madara
-Along with powerful ninjutsu it also carried strong genjutsus (Flower world tree)
My point is Yamato is the level he is because of his own effort, training, and skill.
Do you guys think if he was trained by the leaf higher ups (Hiruzen, Minato, Jiraiya etc) He could have been a Ninja on a whole nother level and be close to, as, or more powerful then Hashirama and would have made a good candidate for Hokage?
