Yabuchi

What was once simply an uneven and rocky region that made it difficult for most to inhabit beyond mining operations, Yabuchi has since been converted into a militarized port-city that practically controls the flow of sea traffic between the Kanashii and Nanmen Oceans. It is here that a modestly sized, yet stunningly advanced armada of Solana military ships are docked, each outfitted with various state-of-the-art weaponry that is capable of both anti-air and sea defense without ever having to leave their harbors. Stationed upon the land is several military encampments that serve as housings for a marchable army that is situated to respond to any threat at a moment's notice.

Coming from .

The trade boat neared the shore where a blue light illuminated the waters and provided a beacon that land was nearby. She had finally arrived in the Tea Country and although she wasn't sure what she who exactly this Shogun was, for his influence to reach high into the Lightning Mountains meant he was someone who could get things done. Gwen departed from the ship, flying from the boat to the shore.
Gwen arrived at night, and the beach was deserted save for the brightness of the lighthouse. Having finally made it to her destination, Gwen decided to scout the area and find more about the new land she was in. The area was under the jurisdiction of the Shogun, and she didn't want her first night in the land to be wrought with bloodshed when things went south.

Gwen's Byakugan gave her a near complete view of the area. The small communities where people stayed were far enough away that she was able to find a nice plot of land not situated far from the lighthouse. The area overlooked the beach and water, and if things went south with the Shogun she could simply return here for a vacation.

Gwen performed a string of hand seals which allowed her chakra to make use of the Earth and create a shelter that was large enough to house Gwen and a few other people. Inside, the structure had split off into several rooms. Gwen would make it her mission to get the place furnished as soon as possible. As the night drew on, and Gwen made the necessary preparations which included fencing off the area from intruders she would send a dog to the Shogun's representative, letting him know that the camp was established and the area was ready for him to do as he pleased.

Techniques used:

(Doton: Iwa no Hogo) - Earth Release: Earth Shelter Technique
Type: Defensive
Rank: B
Range: Short
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: The user surrounds themselves with earth, taken from the immediate vicinity, in order to fabricate a formation of rock that is capable of protecting both the user and others in close proximity, if desired. Doing so, seemingly leaves the surrounding terrain unaltered, even when the quantity of earth used is enough to form a complete dome around multiple individuals as seen when Ittan used this technique. The user can also manipulate the resulting shelter to have openings in it so as to be able to observe outside, as demonstrated when used by Kitsuchi.

(Kuchiyose no Jutsu) - Summoning Technique
Rank: B
Type: Defense/Attack/Suplementary
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description:
To summon the creature the ninja will wipe blood on his hand, perform the Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram handseals and then touch the ground or another object, where a sealing formula will appear. Though it appears that as long as significant pressure is placed against the blood in some form, the summon will be complete, most summoning uses use a solid surface, though in some cases it can even be done mid air. There can be variations to the summoning steps, some ninja like Temari will wipe blood on her fan, then by swinging the fan the animal is summoned. Other ninja like Orochimaru wipe the blood across a snake tattoo on their arm first, then touch the ground. Others will clap their hands directly like Nagato through the use of his Animal Path. The user must have signed the contract with the creature he wants to summon but the technique can be used to summon a generic creature of that contract (B-Rank) which will have no special traits or abilities beyond those normal to the rest of the animals in the contract. The animal is always summoned on the mark that appears upon slamming the users hand or, if not the case, always in short range of the user.

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:
Help a local trader by transporting his wares (2)
Set up a secure camp (2)

Summary: Ryuu arrives in Yabuchi, where he meets a trader in need of help. He carries his things for him the whole day, then sets up camp at night before finally reaching Hashiwara. (Not claiming this landmark yet)

Gradually, the terrain changed from the greener Kurikita to a rougher and more rocky one. Although he had only been walking for about three hours, it felt like he had been walking the whole day. It was tiring walking on uneven ground, as Ryuu had to constantly watch his step. He wondered how the people around here did it. Come to think of it, when he looked around, he noticed there were not many people around. He could see a person here or there sporadically as he passed them, although they payed no attention. They were probably used to seeing travellers. However, once he delved deeper into the land, the boy noticed that there were actually clusters of larger communities located here and there. He did not want to stick around for too long though; this place looked a little too dull to him. He would rather explore further on.

As he turned to walk North, Ryuu heard the sound of a horn; so loud it startled him. Irritated, he turned around to look at the ocean behind, where the sound had come from. A ship of a reasonable size was approaching, ready to pull in onto the shore. His irritation dissipating a little, Ryuu decided to watch the ship. It was always worth a look. The hull was broad, brown in colour, although it was somewhat rusty. Ryuu decided it could do with a fresh coat of paint, but that wasn't exactly his problem now. Watching as the ship pulled up, Ryuu noticed a little bit of commotion upon the deck. A middle-aged, well-rounded man appeared to be having a bit of an argument with who looked like the ship captain, seeing as how the latter was dressed in a neat looking uniform, as well as a captain's hat. This was interesting.

I've told you many times over! For God's sake, I can't take your bloody wares any further! What, do you expect my ship to sail on land now?!

The Captain looked exasperated, hands on his hips, looking down at the shorter man, who looked rather defensive.

And I never asked you to do that! I only asked if you could lend me some of your men to help carry these goods to the next village. How hard can that be?! It's only a few hours of a walk away you know...

By this time, the Captain's head looked ready to pop, so infuriated the man was making him. Finally, after some more arguing, the man was eventually forcefully dragged off the ship by some of the ships men, and his goods were dumped next to him on the sand. Kneeling down, the man looked like he was about to start crying. Ryuu felt like the situation could have been handled better.

Watching the ship sail away back into the distance, the boy sighed internally and walked over to the man who sat despondently on the sand. Crouching down childishly in front of the man, he peered into his eyes curiously. The man was taken aback to see a boy in front of him all of a sudden, and stumbled backwards. But Ryuu simply stared at him, as if trying to discern whether it would be worth helping the man.

White eyes! What are you?

The man gasped at the sight of Ryuu's pupil-less eyes, obviously thinking he was some kind of strange creature. It was evident that he had never seen a Hyūga before. But Ryuu did not immediately give any recognition that he had heard him. Instead, he looked around at the goods surrounding the man; ranging from pots, knives, watches and so on. There was quite a bit of stuff here; clearly too much for one person to carry all by himself. Even for two people, it would be difficult without some sort of apparatus. Engrossed in making plans as to how to carry everything, the man appeared to be a little nervous at the fact that Ryuu was not saying anything, and that he was instead just staring at everything. Noticing this, Ryuu came back to the present, and took out his notebook. He wrote:

Sorry, I can't speak. But I could lend you a hand?

Showing the man what he had written, Ryuu noticed him give him a questioning look, as if not believing a child like him could be of any help. Still, Ryuu knew that the man needed his help, which is why he did not turn him down. Instead, the man stood up, brushed the sand off his clothes, and shook Ryuu's hand, introducing himself.

Well, sure. I'm Marcus. Pleased to meet you. Interesting to find a mute kid eh? Let's see what you can do now. I need to take this to the next village up there.

The man pointed North, and Ryuu noted that that was where he was originally going anyways. He nodded, although he could sense doubt in Marcus; doubt that Ryuu would be able to help. Well, he would show him. Gathering earth chakra, the boy created two earthen wheelbarrows in front of him, with beautifully curved wooden handles. He handed one to the man, who had his mouth wide in astonishment. He looked amazed, then ashamed that he had doubted the boy.

(Doton no Jutsu) - Earth Release Technique
Type: Supplementary/Offensive/Defensive
Rank: D
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 10
Damage: 20
Descripton: Creates small pillars of earth, small tools, and small shields of earth
Ah, so you're a ninja! Well, that makes things so much easier then.

Ryuu felt a bit of irritation a this comment; he wasn't just a tool to make life easy! And the man didn't sound apologetic at all either... He didn't let it show though; it was best to be polite, especially since Kaizen was new to these areas. After everything was eventually loaded into the two wheelbarrows, the pair set off north. On the way, the trader chatted in a relaxed manner, seemingly glad that someone had been willing to help him. He told Ryuu of all his woes on the ship, how many days of sea sickness he had to endure, only to be dumped in the last part of the journey. Looking at Marcus from the side of his eye, Ryuu couldn't help but feel that the man probably asked for it. From what he had seen already, Ryuu guessed that this man had probably nagged at the Captain of the ship all day, eating his brains out. But of course, he kept this to himself too.

The duo travelled steadily for the next 3 hours, before they had to break eat some food. Ryuu had already eaten one of his 3 loaves earlier with some butter. Now he offered one to Marcus, but he declined, as he already had his own food. Shrugging, Ryuu started munching down on his food. It was almost evening when they set back to foot again. After traveling for just another half an hour, Ryuu and Marcus decided that it was going to get too dark soon. They had to set up camp whilst there was still light.

Looking around, Ryuu could only see vast rocky land, with no possible shelter. It looked like they would have to make their own. Marcus had nothing with which to make a tent out of , so the responsibility fell on Ryuu again. So, biting his thumb, the boy drew blood, drawing his medical kanji on the medical scroll underneath the symbol of a small tent. Marcus watched in amazement as a little tent 'poofed' into existence before the pair. It looked like he was seriously considering hiring Ryuu to be his personal assistant, although he said nothing. Deciding he could help with something, the man grabbed the pins that came along with the tent, and started nailing them into the ground. It was hard though, since the ground was rocky, and so he had to find areas that were sifter than other. Eventually, the tent was set up. The travellers left the wheelbarrows outside the tent for the night, as they were too big to fit in the small tent. As it was, there was only enough room for the two of them anyways. Ryuu quickly fell into deep sleep, as did the man.

(Kuchiyose No Jutsu: Eisei Yougu) - Summoning Technique: Medical tools
Type: Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: N/A
Chakra cost: 20
Damage: N/A
Description: The medical shinobi bites his thumb and draws his Medical Kanji on the Medical scroll underneath the symbol of the tool he desires to summon.
Note: This can only be used by Medical Shinobi.:

メス - scalpel, sterilized
ナイフ - knife
アルコール - a bottle of 96% ethanol for disinfection
水 - a bottle of sterilized water
スポイト - syringe, sterile, for one time use only
アドレナリン - adrenaline, to be injected intravasulary, induces faster heartbeat
包帯 - bandage, sterile, 8 meters in length
血液 - a set of everything you need to draw someones blood (Sterile syringe, vacuum system and a test tube.)
温度計 - mercury thermometer, for axillary or rectal use
ベッド - a mobile bed to carry patients
バグ - bug spray, effective against all bugs, lasts for 2 turns (used in cases when your patient is having a reaction to multiple bug stings, and there are still some bugs around it, so you spray-kill them. Kills bugs up to A rank if they've been created/summoned from a jutsu like the Aburame techniques)
テント - a small tent, just enough for two people to lie in
光 - a flashlight
ガスマスク - gas mask with a bottle of oxygen that lasts 5 turns (Not 100% effective against all types of poison/gas. The purpose is to protect the user from breathing in toxic substances, keeping the lungs safe. However, if the poison gets absorbed through the pores of the skin it will still affect you).
流体 - a set to start an intravenous fluid addition line, helpful with dehydration amongst many other conditions
モルタル - mortar and pestle, chemically clean
スプーン - spoon, sterile
パテ - putty knife, metal, sterile
研究所 - a small hut. Into the walls of that house, parts of Nexus' eyes DNA have been inserted, so now it mixes Time And Relative Dimensions In Space , creating an effect of being larger on the inside then it is on the outside. Inside is an advanced laboratory with everything needed to create antidotes and medicines.
Ryuu awakened to a harsh wind, so strong that the tent was tilting sideways. It was time to get up. Returning the tent back to its dimension after Marcus too had awoken, Ryuu went over to the wheelbarrows, surprised to see that the goods had not blown away. They must have been heavier than he had thought. Marcus had a determined look on his face; the man wanted to reach the next village as soon as possible, it seemed. And so the pair set off as soon as they took care of their necessities. From here on, the journey was not much longer.

As they travelled more inland, pushing their wheelbarrows, the land grew softer beneath their feet, and village smells could slowly be scented. They were very close now. And at last, after around 2 hours, the pair finally reached their destination...

Coming from Kurikita

Mission: The Candidates (1.5)
Summary: Ryuu is on a hunt for an apparently precious gem, which has to be handed in to a mysterious person. Looking for adventure, the curious ninja undertakes the mission.

Arriving at Yabuchi for the second time, Ryuu scanned the land, remembering where he had previously found a trader abandoned here on the shore. He had helped him to the next village, which Ryuu now considered another home. That had definitely been a worthwhile encounter. The ninja wondered if this trip too would bring him some good fortune out of it. Looking towards the lighthouse with his famed eyes, he smiled, thinking of the riddle.

Remnants not lost of a time once gold,
With blue flames that light the way.
At the tip you will find its base,
What you seek resting in place.

This place was a remnant of the Freehold, which he knew was what the golden time in the riddle referred to. The blue flames were visible to him even in the daylight with his Byakugan. They were within the lighthouse. And of course, in order to help the incoming ships, this lighthouse was on the tip of Yabuchi, and rested in the same place as it had had for centuries, some yards ahead of Ryuu, which fit in neatly with the riddle.

Walking onwards, Ryuu quickly reached the lighthouse. Peering at it from the outside, the Hyūga brushed his fingers on the brick texture, penetrating his gaze through the wall. He constantly zoomed in and out with his Byakugan, until at last, he thought he found it. The boy entered the lighthouse then, going up the steps two at a time in his eagerness. Finally, at the top, Ryuu stood atop a platform. Squinting his eyes a little due to the bright light, Ryuu saw that the platform he stood on was a circle, and in the middle of it, there was a large blue flame. And just where he had seen it before, near the flame appeared to be a diamond, black in colour. Reaching out to pick it up, he felt the warmth on it from the flame, and clutching it tightly, he went back down the lighthouse, before placing it in his ninja pouch.

He knew where to go from here now as the details were all on the poster he had read, but it would take a bit of traveling. That he did not mind. Walking along the shore, Ryuu boarded a large ship from the dock which was headed where he wanted to go, entering the ocean. It would be faster this way, and he could blend in with the crowd in the ship.

Coming from here

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:
Infiltrate an enemy's base (3)
Make an enemy of the Clan disappear (3)

Summary: Ryuu arrives in Yabuchi again, curious about this land so close to his newly found home. By chance, he happens to hear details of a plan where some people want to attack his clan. Alarmed, he decides to take care of the situation on his own before it can escalate... (claiming landmark)

Finally, Ryuu reached the shores of Kanashii Ocean, running onto land again. As he arrived, he looked around. Curious about this land, given how it was right next to his home, he decided to check it out. He had been here before, but he was always in a rush when he came, and so he had not had a proper chance to explore the place yet. He had to make sure the place next to them would be hospitable in case his clan wanted to expand. The best place to go for information gathering about the land would be somewhere there were lots of people. He decided that somewhere would be a marketplace.

Walking towards where he thought the middle of the village would be, Ryuu found his instincts to be correct. For not too long after setting off, he found himself in a large area filled with stands and stalls. Voices of people and sounds of various things mixed in with each other, creating a lovely atmosphere. Ryuu was reminded of the marketplace in Kurikita. It wasn't too surprising, the similarity, considering the two villages were so close in proximity to each other.

For the time being, Ryuu decided to blend in with the crowd, walking around as if he too was buying things. But mostly, he just tuned his ears to the different conversations of people he passed by, trying to get a grasp of what this village was like. They seemed pretty normal so far, with some men chatting about their families to each other, others talking about their jobs and yet others who conversed about how it was nice to have peace in this land after the demise of the Freehold. However, that conversation seemed a little different, as the men seemed to disagree a little.

Peace, you say?... The listening man lifted an eyebrow in questioning. The man who had at first made that statement mumbled, Well I mean, compared to before it is, isn't it? Perhaps in some ways, but this one here is a more immediate threat. Like I don't feel safe outside after dark if I'm by myself...

The pair continued their conversation, with Ryuu wondering what they could be referring to. But he didn't have to wait long to find the answer.

C'mon man, don't be such a chicken! Those guys are just cowards who have nothing better to do, so all they could get into was thieving! The other man's eyes widened, and he lowered his voice, bringing his face closer to his companion's. Ryuu had to strain to listen to their conversation now. So you don't know? You know that new clan in the next village? K-Ka something? Yeah that one, can't really remember the name of it. Anyways, I heard these thieves are gonna attack them! Pfftt that's just all talk. The man laughed, however, the other one kept insisting that he was sure it was true.

Disturbed by this, Ryuu continued to follow them at a distance, listening to their conversations. From it, apart from what he had just heard, he found out that this land was otherwise quite nice, being known especially for its lighthouse. It also had some mines, but the lighthouse appeared to be the pride of the land. Ryuu had been inside it himself not too long ago, and no wonder they thought so highly of it, given how majestic it was. Now evening, the men split up, probably to go back home. He remembered how one of the men was scared of being out at dark, and decided to follow him. At least he could protect him if something did happen to him. But more than that, he was curious to see if he could find any clues about the whereabouts of this 'gang' from the man's actions. He ended up following him all the way to his home, but found nothing suggestive at all.

Ryuu was not about to go and ask the man himself; he would rather keep a low profile, if what the man said was actually true. He would do things his own way. Perhaps he could go back to the marketplace, which would soon be deserted, and see if he could find anything there. Maybe these so called thieves would come to loot something from there. Making his way back, Ryuu saw a shadow from the corner of his eye. Someone was creeping into a dark alley. Squinting his eyes, Ryuu could make out a large bag over the man's shoulder, who wore all black. This looked suspicious... He started to follow him quietly, curious as to where the man was going. However, after turning a corner, Ryuu found that the man had vanished! Looking all around him in case he had fallen into a trap, the young ninja could see no visible signs of such a thing. The streets were now very quiet, and no one seemed to be around, not even for an ambush. Besides, no one from this land could know at this point that he was from Kaizen.

Activating his Byakugan, the Hyūga scanned the place for the man. He looked through buildings, houses and streets, but only saw people living in houses, or perhaps the odd couple walking the streets, probably on their way home. Almost giving up, the boy then noticed movement underground. There he was, the man clad in black, walking beneath the ground! Probing deeper with his eyes, Ryuu noticed that there was a miniature underground mansion-like complex in this proximity, with a few tunnels leading up to the surface of the ground, presumably for coming back up. He could see a few rooms in the complex, and a large square room right in the middle of it. Just a few metres ahead of Ryuu was a trapdoor so cleverly hidden and camouflaged, that if he did not have the Byakugan, he would never have noticed it.
(Dōjutsu: Byakugan) Eye Technique: The All Seeing White Eye
Type:
Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 15 (+5 per turn to keep active)
Damage: N/A
Description: The kekkei genkai intrinsic to both the Hyūga and Ōtsutsuki clans—descendants of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. Those who possess this dōjutsu have it manifested as eyes with featureless white irides and no visible pupils. And when activated, the pupils become more distinct and the veins near their temples bulge. To activate the dōjutsu, Hyuga but not Ōtsutsuki clan members are initially obliged to use a rather long and specific sequence of handseals: Horse → Tiger → Boar → Hare → Rat → Dog → Horse → Dog → Hare → Rat → Boar → Snake. But once activated, the dōjutsu user is endowed with a range of skills.

To start, an activated Byakugan gives the user a near 360º diameter field of vision bar one blind spot at the back of the neck, above the first thoracic vertebra. Its vision can penetrate through any solid objects or obstructions, and likewise remains unaffected by blinding interferences. But that being said, certain barriers and the like may distort its perception. In addition, it is able to follow high-speed movements, which enables those with this dōjutsu to analyze their foes' actions and better react to them. The Byakugan is also able to see chakra to a higher degree than the Sharingan and ergo, identify where a person's chakra signature originates from. Beyond that, it can discern certain types of clones from the real person. And its ability to see chakra is in fact so acute that those who possess this dōjutsu are even able to see the chakra pathway system and the 361 tenketsu that comprise it. The Hyūga clan has gone so far as to develop their unique Gentle Fist style in order to capitalize on this particular ability.

Note: Hyuga clan bios of at least Sannin rank become able to passively activate their dōjutsu upon one month having passed since Gentle Fist training concluded. Ōtsutsuki bios never need to expend a move in order to activate it.
Note: While traversing the NW, bios with activated Byakugan are able to see up to two 2 adjacent landmarks away while those of sage rank can see as far as three away, but this doesn't extend beyond an ocean landmark.

He decided to enter. Best to stop this plan in the tracks if it was even true than to deal with having Kurikita attacked. Carefully lifting the trapdoor, Ryuu made as if to enter, but then realised he should probably make himself invisible first. With his Byakugan, he could see that there was someone near the door inside. Forming the Tiger hand seal, the ninja controlled the reflections of light around him, making himself invisible to ordinary people. Prepared, he then entered. He was glad that it was dark outside now, for if it wasn't, light coming in from outside would have alerted the person by the door that it had opened. Luckily, the man did not notice anything in the dark corridoor at the opening, and Ryuu closed the door above him soundlessly. He paused next to the unknowing man, realising that he was a guard, meant to look out for intruders. If Ryuu could laugh, he would have. Here was an intruder going by right under his nose! Infiltration successful. Sneaking past, Ryuu paused, looking back. The opportunity was too good to pass. Going back, Ryuu intentionally made a couple of his footsteps loud. The look of alarm on the man's face was priceless when he did not see anyone there. Before the man could alert anyone, Ryuu then swiftly got behind him, holding him in a headlock until he fainted. Laying the man on the ground, the boy continued on.
(Meisaigakure no Jutsu) - Hiding with Camouflage Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 30 (-10 per turn active)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This is a ninja escape technique that allows the user after performing the Tiger hand seal to control how light is reflected around their body with chakra inflections. The technique also erases the user's scent and shadow, and is usable on any terrain, making it ideal not only for covert maneuvers but also offensive strikes. Perceiving the user's position is possible only for ninja who are astute enough to observe minute variations within their surrounding environment, such as distortions of air currents in the immediate vicinity or distinguishing sounds, i.e. footsteps etc. However, the usefulness of this ability can be entirely negated by those with special vision or sensory skills. The Second Tsuchikage, Mū's mastery of this technique helped earn him the moniker "Non-Person" seemingly having neither form nor chakra while the technique was active. Thus, he could not be sensed through traditional means.
Note: Technique lasts a total of 3 turns
As soon as he left the small corridoor at the trapdoor, and turned a corner, he found that the place was very well lit with bright lamps everywhere. And as he dove deeper into the mansion, Ryuu found himself coming across increasingly more people. And the disturbing thing was that each one of them were talking about this attack on Kaizen, and it was to be tomorrow. Looks like the man was right after all. The people in here were even preparing for it, you could see it. They were excited, and that made him feel kinda sick. He wouldn't let innocents in his land die. He also heard them talk to each other about these 'special weapons' that they were going to use in the attack. After a bit more poking around, he found these were stored in the heart of the mansion, in that large room he could see with his Byakugan. Sure enough, when he zoomed in, he could see multiple pieces of equipment in there.

A few times whilst trying to silently make his way towards the middle room, Ryuu almost bumped into people, having some very close calls. Given that the corridoors were narrow, it was enough to make any man sweat trying to go by untouched, but Ryuu was lucky that he was not yet a man; his small body gave him some leeway to move around there. Sometimes a man would appear to look right at Ryuu, then walk off after having Ryuu scared out of his wits. For some reason, when in the open, Ryuu was not afraid even if a hundred men like these ones were to surround him in battle. However, the thrill of sneaking around, trying to go by unnoticed made everything all the more suspenseful. He couldn't let himself get caught, at least not till he reached the weapons.

Making steady progress, it was taking a while reaching the middle, so much so that his invisibility effect eventually wore off. Panicking a little as he heard a man round the corner into his corridoor, the young ninja desperately stuck himself onto the ceiling, clinging on like a gecko with chakra being channeled through his hands and feet. The man paused under him, thinking he heard something, but after a few moments, he went on his way. Internally sighing with relief, the boy cautiously leapt back down to the ground, moving forth. Only a bit more to go...

The room in the middle of the underground mansion was rather spacious. Ryuu just stood at the entrance, taking it all in in shock. There were lots of weapons stored here, such as explosive devices, kunai and different weapons. But not just that, there was larger machinery as well. With all this, they must have surely been thinking that Kaizen was a large clan. He couldn't blame them; not many duos could have such a large influence on surrounding areas as they probably had. They probably underestimated shinobi.

As he was staring at all the weaponry in front of him, Ryuu was taken aback when all of a sudden, he found a strong, burly arm around his neck, and a knife pointed to the side of it. He had been so absorbed in looking at the room, that he had let his guard down, and someone must have sneaked in behind his blind spot. Ha, caught you you little rascal! Sneaking around like you own the place huh? The man sneered, and Ryuu realised it was the same one who had just gone past him when he was on the ceiling just a few minutes ago. How did he know though? As if reading his mind, the man spoke again. You thought we wouldn't notice the guard knocked out? Who would've thought it was just a kid though? Bwahahhahhhah. The man laughed cruelly, tossing his head back. Ryuu tried to struggle out of his grasp, but it only prompted the man to hold on tighter. Ryuu scowled at being outwitted at this moment. So, who sent you, huh? Did the villagers finally decide to get rid of us? Well sucks for you, cause they just sent you to your grave! The man laughed again, and Ryuu, irritated at being treated like a child, released chakra from all the tenketsu in his body, sending the man flying away from him.
(Jūken: Ichigekimi) - Gentle Fist: One blow Body
Type: Offensive
Rank: A
Range: Short
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: A technique born from the Hyuga clan's intrinsic ability to expel chakra from every tenketsu on their body, a clan member can hit their opponent with a blast of chakra that will send them flying away from the user. It was also shown that this technique can be used with pin-point accuracy to target the weak point of a technique exemplified when Neji Hyūga was trapped by Kisame Hoshigaki's Water Prison Technique, and was able to dispel it.

Ugh, what was that?! The man snarled as he slumped against a wall, appearing to be in pain. Ryuu turned around at that moment then, and upon seeing his face, the man showed recognition. No doubt from his Byakugan. You- you're a Hyūga! So- so you're from Kaizen! The man yelled out in fear. Great, now the whole colony was going to come. Just as he thought that, he heard footsteps approaching. Gradually, men started pouring into the room, till there were around 20 of them. The man who had found him did not even have to explain to the others, because they all realised he was from Kaizen, given his eyes. However, since they were all together, they were not scared. They were obviously confident that they could beat him here.

Well well well, right into the lion's den you've come eh? Looks like we might not need to go over to Kurikita anymore, right guys? The man looked around at the others as he asked this, and everyone agreed, prompting Ryuu to think that this was probably the leader. Ryuu did not say anything, and this irritated the men. Just kill'im already! But then the leader realized something and put his hand back, calming his people down. Wait, don't you guys remember? There's a mute guy in Kaizen; this must be him! They all laughed at him then, jeering at his inability to speak. Aww, cat got your tongue? Poor child. Bwahahhahhah. Ryuu did not find it amusing in the slightest. It was funny though, how the only thing they knew about him was that he was mute. They did not seem to realize how strong he was.

Taking out an explosive bomb from his ninja pouch and threatening to throw it into the middle of the room in order to destroy all the weaponry, the room finally fell silent. No more laughter to be heard. This was more like it; now it was Ryuu who was grinning. He wasn't actually going to throw it right now; if he did, he along with everyone else could get blown up to bits too. But the gang obviously didn't think about that. Charging towards him all at once, at the command of their leader, Ryuu put the explosive bomb back into his pouch and easily defended against them. Simply dodging some men's punches, grabbing some and throwing them into the bodies of others, and better yet landing punches and kicks on others, Ryuu swiftly defeated all the 20 or so odd men who charged at him without thought. It was quite a scene. However, some men got up after being punched and still had enough fight in them to sneak around behind him and grab some of the weaponry that lay in the room. An arrow narrowly missed the boy.

He sighed; they were still underestimating him. Rushing over to the man with the bow and arrows, Ryuu swiftly plucked it out of his hands, aiming it at others then. Two men rushed towards his side with kunai. Ryuu simply took a step back and placed his hands on the back of their heads and bringing them together, causing them to head butt each other. They fell in confusion and pain. Eventually, Ryuu managed to stop even all the men with weapons. They all looked at him in disbelief now, including the leader. Here was only one member of Kaizen, in their territory, amidst weapons too, and still they could not defeat him! Although to be fair, they couldn't use all their weaponry, only the smaller ones in this small place. But just as he thought that, the leader commanded some of the men to get up and use the larger machinery. That wouldn't be quite possible, Ryuu thought.

So to put an end to his playtime, before things could get any more dangerous, Ryuu wrote something in his notebook, then tore the paper out, crumpling it. He threw it towards the leader, who opened it up and read:

"You guys might want to leave this place soon. I've placed explosives everywhere from the entrance I came in through all the way till here. They'll be going off anytime soon..."

Some other men had leaned over the leaders shoulders and were reading it too. As they read it, looks of alarm covered their face, by which time they realised that Ryuu had already dashed out of the room, and was heading for the entrance. After all, why would he want to be caught up in it, they thought. To the men who had not read it, the leader simply shouted, "Explosives, escaaaaapppeeeeee". The men needed no further encouragement. As soon as Ryuu had left the room, they were all behind him too, following to not get caught up in the explosion. Around corners they all turned, with the men squashing each other at times as they tried to run past each other in an attempt to escape first, not caring at the moment that only one grown man could fit properly in the width of the tunnels.

Eventually though, the men all made it out a bit after Ryuu, and they continued to run off after him above land to go away from the disaster. At last, Ryuu had stopped a safe distance away to about half a kilometre, and so did the men. They panted, some of them bending over to catch their breath, and others laying on the ground. Just as they did, sounds of explosions could be heard from the location they had just come from. It was loud, and the men looked at each other in surprise and fear, no doubt wondering what would have become of them had they still been in there. They did not look like they wanted to fight anymore now; they only threw angry glances at Ryuu, who simply just shrugged. They finally realised they couldn't beat him.

Angry, the leader spoke sarcastically. Good job, kid! Taking away our home from us like that! Ryuu just shrugged again. The irony of it. They had taken away many things from the villagers, and were no doubt aiming to take the lives of innocents from Kurikita if they got in their way, and they were complaining about this now. Looking at Ryuu in disgust, the leader talked to his men. Come, let's go. There's no place for us here anymore. We can find a new place. And with that, he and his followers turned around, making their way to the ocean. Ryuu just stood there, watching with his Byakugan as the men eventually reached the shore and boarded a ship that sailed them off. Good riddance. He only hoped that they were not going off to terrorise another community...

Going back to the place of the explosion, Ryuu had found that many sleepy villagers were standing there, confused, as to what had woken them up. They all gathered around, looking at the charred roads where the explosives had gone off. Ryuu smiled, for although he had told the men that he had planted explosives inside, he had not. Running out in a hurry like that had only been a facade to get them to leave the place quickly. The explosives that they had heard were ones outside. Since Ryuu had left the mansion a bit before them as he was faster, he had quickly placed some onto the cobbled stone road outside the complex, and those were the ones that had actually gone off. The only damage was a bit to the roads, but it was nothing that couldn't be fixed.

Standing there, thinking about the events that had just occurred, he found that all of a sudden, villagers were around him. They recognised that he was not from around here, and asked him if he knew what had happened. They didn't know about the trapdoors. For all Ryuu knew, perhaps he was now the only person in the village who did know. So omitting the details, he simply told them that he had chased the gang out of the village, and that the noise they heard was from them fighting here. They believed him readily, realizing that he was from Kaizen, the clan they admired. They informed him of how this gang was notoriously known in the village for their bad deeds and how they had settled here recently and had found Kaizen's existence to be a threat to them. The villagers were grateful to him, and so welcomed his clan into the village, saying that he could come whenever he wanted. Pleased with this outcome, the boy eventually yawned, sleep catching up to him. The hospitable villagers decided to take him in for the night, bickering over who would have the honour. Ryuu smiled. It was nice to have such caring people in this land too...

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:
Stomp out protest and/or dissent (3)
Convince a criminal to confess (3)

Summary: Having just kicked out a notorious gang out of the land, Ryuu learns that some people in the land are unhappy about Kaizen being allowed to occupy the place. A protest takes place in the marketplace, to which Ryuu swiftly and calmly puts an end to. He finds the perpetrator who ignited this protest, and makes him confess to everyone else that he was in league with the gang. When the untrusting villagers learn of this, they stop the protest and accept Kaizen warmly, realising that the clan's presence would actually be a good thing.

Ryuu awoke the next morning in a comfortable bed, confused for a few moments. Then he remembered how he had just driven the gang occupying this village in the previous night. The people who had woken up at night and had crowded around him, as well as the head of the village had welcomed him into the land. He was happy. Kaizen was spreading, and with it they brought kindness and their ninja expertise. He was sure that soon, many more small villages would hear of them and would be happy to welcome their influence.

Getting out of bed, Ryuu cautiously went to the main areas of the house, not wanting to intrude, but at the same time wanting to leave. The man who brought him in saw him and beamed at him. Good morning, you're up nice and early aren't you? Ryuu nodded politely. He wanted to leave soon to go to Kurikita. After eating some food, the man finally let him go, sending him his well wishes. Ryuu had just gone a few minutes out of the house when he noticed people were talking about his clan, for good and for bad. Some of the people were saying how nice Kaizen was for getting rid of the gang, and how good it was to have someone protecting them, whilst others were saying that Kaizen was evil and intended to use the land, only to betray them in the end. Ryuu listened curiously as he walked, wondering where people were getting all these ideas from. He also saw shaking heads; people sighing about an upcoming protest.

Ryuu listened in. A protest? He wondered what it was about, but he soon got his answer. Papers littered walls and poles everywhere. It appeared that some people's dislike for Kaizen was intense, as the forms read:

Come to the market place at 1PM! Ban the clan from the land!
A simple message, yet powerful in its meaning. The emotion in the words were likely to strike the hearts of many. Ryuu raised an eyebrow in amusement, then grimaced as he saw people reading them everywhere. They were becoming brainwashed, converting to the side of opposition. This had to stop before the entire village decided to turn on them. Ryuu was glad that his Byakugan was not activated at the moment; no one on the streets recognised him as a member of Kaizen right now. He really had to get to the bottom of this though. Who was posting all these papers? There had to be someone. Perhaps even more than one...

Analysing the papers, the boy tried to find a clue, any clues at all, as to the poster of these papers. They were just ordinary papers as far as he could see. There was no name, and nothing unusual stood out on any of them that he could see. This might prove to be difficult. Then he had an idea. Inconspicuously, the boy took a few papers off here and there, each one without anyone noticing him. He did not need everyone to know that he was from Kaizen right now; he didn't know if he would make it out of the village alive otherwise... With each paper that he took off, he let it flutter gently to the ground underneath where it had been, as if these papers had just fallen off naturally with the breeze's force. Good thing that it was slightly windy on this day.

After setting down a few papers here and there, Ryuu mingled with the crowd, pretending to walk with purpose, but all the while observing the fallen papers. Some blew around with the wind, whilst others just fluttered in their locations. Soon enough, he got what he wanted. A stout, short man with round glasses walked around, picking up the fallen papers and putting them back on their places, whilst looking in apparent innocent surprise that papers were falling everywhere. He basically made himself look like a good samaritan by pretending to fix things up. However, Ryuu knew with the way that the man looked around that he was nervous; a total giveaway to a culprit. Also the fact that he didn't just throw them away in the garbage, but opted to put negative information back out for the public to see. Truly crafty. It seemed that only Ryuu noticed this though, for others just went on their way, not even paying much attention to the man.

The man soon started walking away, heading down an alley with some people in it. Ryuu followed. Eventually, they arrived at the market place. Ryuu could see that the protest had started a little while ago. People were crowded all over the already usually busy market place, holding signs and posters, screaming words that got mixed up with everyone else's. The man he had been following then paused for a bit, smirking at the large crowd. Probably admiring his handiwork. People were shouting everywhere, and it seemed like utter chaos. Phrases like 'Kill the clan!' or 'Throw em out!' were being repeated, amongst many others. Not only that, but the people who wanted to sell their goods were unable to, making them angry at the protesters. Authorities stood at the edges as well as amongst the crowd, trying to calm people down, but to no avail. Overall, things looked very hectic, as citizens of opposing views even started fighting each other now.

Ryuu sighed internally. If he really wanted to, he could easily have subdued everyone here with his power, but that was not what he wanted. It would only reinforce their negative view of his clan. He wanted Kaizen to have a peaceful existence in the land, coexisting in harmony with everyone; not have everyone obey them out of fear. They were not tyrants at all. And so the boy did nothing in the crowd for now. He only watched the man that he followed. After some observation, he also noticed that the man did not interact with people, as if he did not even belong here. Maybe he was a traveller trying to cause disruption. The Hyūga could not really guess at his intentions. The strange man just watched things unfold, before moving off again, as if his job here was done.

Ryuu followed the man into quieter alleys now, before eventually entering a large building. It looked to be an office of sorts, however, it was completely deserted as far as Ryuu could tell. Everyone was probably at the protest right now. The man walked right in, and looked around for a bit. It was evident through these actions that he was not too familiar with the building. Eventually, he went over to a phone and dialed a number, still unaware of Ryuu watching him, now crouched behind a pile of strategically located cardboard boxes. They had probably held books in them before, but now they were empty.

Hello? Boss? Uh yeah it's all good here. Huh? No no, I haven't seen him, don't worry. He's probably left. Yeah, so I did what you asked. Basically, put a lot of posters around. I was quite surprised at the number of people that read them actually. Thank you! Yes, and now the protest is going on. Hopefully they'll be kicked out, and you guys can return soon. Alright. What was that? Ah okay. See you. See you then, bye!

The man rubbed the back of his head with a smile on his face. He had probably gotten a compliment from this 'boss' of his, and was probably a little happy/embarrassed now. Ryuu had no doubt that the man he had been talking to on the phone was the leader of the gang he had just kicked out last night. Although he could only hear this side of the phone conversation, Ryuu had understood what was going on. Basically, this man had been asked to stage this protest. As the man put the phone down, he turned around, before coming face to face with Ryuu. The boy, with his sneaky ways, had crept up behind the man as he was putting the phone down.

He almost jumped out of his skin upon seeing Ryuu. Aaaah, what the hell? What are you doing here kid? Ryuu just started back at him passively, clearly making the man nervous. Umm, err, why don't you go out and play like a good kid? He laughed nervously, probably wondering how long Ryuu had been there. Ryuu just took out his notebook then and wrote something in it, before showing the man:

So, I wonder how the 'boss' is doing eh?
It was an attempt to greatly unsettle the man, and it worked wonders. He jumped back in surprise. So you did hear me then? Oh well, sorry for you kiddo, but you ain't gonna talk. The man hastily lunged at Ryuu's throat with his hand. But the boy simply grabbed the larger person's arm, the hand an inch from his neck. He then twisted his body around, sending the man flying over his head. The man landed on the ground, visibly shocked at Ryuu's strength. His jaw was open as he pointed at Ryuu in recognition then. Wait, you- you're from that clan? When Ryuu gave a nod, the man looked as if he was going to be apologetic, but his expression quickly changed to an evil smirk, realising he could take down one of Kaizen's men right here. His boss was sure to be proud of him. Grabbing around himself on the floor, the man managed to grab a pocket knife laying on the ground near the empty boxes. It was probably what was used to open them. The man wasted no time in throwing it at his victim, but again Ryuu thwarted him. As the blade flew towards his face, Ryuu simply grabbed the handle of the blade before it could strike him. He then swiftly threw it back towards the man, where it whizzed right past his nose, cut a little piece of his hair, before landing behind him.

The man froze in shock, realising that he was so close to being hit, but that Ryuu had intentionally missed him. Sitting on the floor with his hands behind him to support his body, he tried backing away. But he still had a fight left in him. So what? Just cause you heard me, what are you gonna do about it anyways? Not like anyone would believe a kid like you from that clan. Especially now that I told them the rumours about you guys! The man sneered. But Ryuu was not fazed at all. Walking over to the man, he took something out of his pocket. It was a recording device. He played it:

'He's probably left. Yeah, so I did what you asked. Basically, put a lot of posters around. I was quite surprised at the number of people that read them actually. Thank you! Yes, and then, now the protest is going on. Hopefully they'll be kicked out, and you guys can return soon. Alright. What was that? Ah okay. See you. See you then, bye!'
It was a recording of the man's conversation on the phone. Ryuu had recorded it all, apart from the beginning greetings as he needed time to start the recording. But he had the most essential parts. This time, it appeared the man was finally broken. He did not look like he was going to rebel against Ryuu anymore. Silently looking at the ground, closing his hands which were on the ground slowly so that he now leaned on fists, the man broke down into tears, looking up at Ryuu. I'm so sorry! He started blurting out everything then. They made me do this! You don't know what they will do if I don't listen to them. They will take my family, and my little boy, he really looks up to me you know! So please, have mercy on me! Don't show this to anyone please... The man looked at Ryuu pleadingly, who in turn looked back expressionlessly. He thought for a bit, before writing something in his book again:

No one will have to listen to this recording if you just own up you know?
He showed the man, who looked down at the ground sideways then. That's not possible, I'm afraid... The gang will come back to haunt me, I'm sure of it... And even if they don't, the villagers themselves will hate me. I won't ever be forgiven! The man said this last sentence louder, looking directly at the boy as he did so, tearing up again. Ryuu felt for him, and wrote something again:

Do you really believe that you have no choice in this matter? So what if the gang finds out? So what if they threaten you? You have to be strong enough to stand up against them! Besides, have you no faith? With my clan protecting this place, did you really think you or your family could be attacked?
Upon reading this, the man looked down again, obviously ashamed at his powerlessness. But... I didn't think you guys would be strong enough to protect us you know. I've never seen anyone protect a place so well that no one attacks the place... Ryuu sighed internally. This man was rather stubborn in his beliefs. It appeared he had little trust in others. Ryuu wondered what had happened to him to make him feel this way. But he did not ask; he had to be fast in order to have this protest end before any real damage occurred. And he was also confident in his ability in protecting people. He wrote in his notebook again:

Look, I can promise you that if you cease to be allied with them, I will protect you. I swear. You don't have to worry about anything. You've already seen what I can do haven't you? Well let me tell you then, I'm not even the strongest amongst my clan. There are six others that are stronger than me! So you don't have to fear anymore... We will make this place safe for everyone.
The man looked like he wanted to protest again, but then Ryuu waved the recorder in front of him, reminding him again. The man did not have much of a choice really. Ryuu had made sure of that. The man reluctantly accepted. Fine, what do you want me to do then? Ryuu quickly wrote:

Something very simple. Just go to the protest and tell everyone that the rumours you spread were false.
The man grimaced. It would not be easy for him. But he would do it, he said. And so, Ryuu left with him back towards the market place. By this time, it was obvious that things had gotten way more chaotic. Village leaders and officials were all standing atop a balcony over looking the market place, looking rather distressed, whilst law enforcers were everywhere, trying to set order to the place. Some of the people on the ground shouted towards the balcony, furious, whilst others fought in between each other. The man besides Ryuu gulped, daunted by the sight. Evidently, he had not thought that the protest would turn out to be this big.

Ryuu led the man into the building with the balcony, emerging on top near the officials. They recognised him, and immediately asked him what they should do. They were still in support of the clan, luckily. Ryuu simply motioned to the man near him, also letting the officials know to give the perpetrator a microphone. The man took a deep breath before turning to face the crowd and spoke. He had to speak very loudly at first to get everyone to clam down a bit.

QUIET DOWN EVERYONE! WHAT IS ALL THIS FUSS YOU ARE MAKING? There, finally a bit quieter. Anyways, why are you guys resisting the clan's presence here? I know, someone has been spreading really bad rumours about them haven't they? That person must be really horrible, right?

The crowd was stunned, looking at each other in disbelief. Rumours? They had come to believe them as anything but rumours now. One person shouted out from the crowd, How do you know they're just rumours? The others in the large crowd shouted things such as, 'Yeah, how do you know huh?', or, 'Why should we believe you?' The man sighed, speaking again. Everyone quieted down again.

How do I know? Well, the answer to that is simple really. I am the one who spread these rumours, of course I would know... The crowd murmured in disbelief, as did the people on the balcony, but did not raise their voices as the man continued on. I know that you may not pardon me for this, but it's the truth. I am in league with the gang that this young man right here just drove out last night. They left it to me to see to their safe return here. I am so sorry guys, I really am.

But some people in the crowd were still a little skeptical, saying that he could be lying just to calm them down. They asked, that if this was true, why was he fessing up now then? It's the truth... To be honest, this young man here showed me that selling myself to another is not the only way to live... We can live however we want, isn't that right? We have the right to feel safe, don't we guys?! To this, the crowd cheered. He was quickly turning the crowd back in favour of the clan. He knew how to play on their emotions. Ryuu approved. Well, with Kaizen, you can feel safe guys! He promised. Anyways, haven't you heard how happy the people of Kurikita are? They used to be constantly attacked by pirates, but ever since Kaizen arrived there, there has been no such occurrence. He held his arms out to the crowd. So people, please believe me, and welcome them to this land! To this, the crowd finally appeared to have been swayed. They yelled out things like 'Long live Kaizen', amongst other phrases. They even seemed to forget that the man had to probably be held accountable for his deeds. But that was not for the villagers to deal with anyways.

As the protesters slowly dispersed, Ryuu and the village heads turned to look at the man. He was ashamed of himself, which was a relief. Ryuu let him know that he did a great speech. But he still had to have some kind of punishment. In return for living in a safe environment, the man was to do community service in the village for 2 months. He gladly accepted, grateful that it was nothing worse. Already, he was liking Kaizen's presence. If it were not for Ryuu, he could be in jail for such an offense. Once all these things were dealt with, Ryuu departed the building, finally having some peaceful time to himself again as he walked around.
