Even with Nine Tails, Naruto learned everything through hard work, if it weren't for that then he would be weak even with the Kyubi.

If the Naruto series was actually about hard work then... wouldn't Rock Lee be one of the strongest characters, stronger than Naruto himself? He is the one that works the hardest.
