Would you read a manga with a gay main character?

Very disappointing to see that the majority would not. The main character doesn't bring it up every chapter, but kinda hints it. Just imagine if Naruto was gay. He would still be a cool main character. Or Ichigo.

I see it like this, I don't read manga or watch anime for the main character being straight, I watch them to see how cool they are. Even in naruto, romance is just not up there with what I want to see (althoughhh, for one piece I still think sanji-nami, and robin-zoro would be perfect butttt moving on..). So yeah I would watch it, if him being gay wasn't a huge plot point and the show was actually cool.

It's sad how many racist people it is here. It's like asking ''would you read a manga if it was a black main character?''

I don't give a **** if it's a gay character, black character, white character, fat character, straight character - Is the manga good then i'm reading it. Done.

Since it has emphasizes on the main character being gay, no.
I'm not even trying to be a homophobic, but if it was to be where the main character has to be announced as gay, somethings will happen. You can bet on that. I am not homophobic but things like that make me weird out a bit.

Yet here they are, on this forum... because they do read Naruto...

There's nothing wrong or embarrassing about it. Naruto and Sauce-kay-koon are obsessed with each other. Do I need to bring out the manga screens? No. I don't even need to, because most people see it already.

Umm, what kind of manga? If its action then sure, its 2013 people should get over it anyways. As long as the whole manga doesn't revolve around how gay the guy is then its fine. I don't want to read a manga specifically about someone being gay, I feel like that would just turn into something really disrespectful to homosexuals

I suppose I would. One of my fav characters is gay, and I clearly see my self reading a spin off with him as the main character (I'm talking about Chota from Dorohedoro manga). The only important thing here is that he remains the same Chota of always!
