If you were put in Itachi's shoes?

I think Itachi is the main reason Sasuke is nutty with killing Konoha, and he trolled the hell out of everyone when Sasuke killed him and he found out he was only looking out for him..

Itachi is crazy, and his plan backfired.. He expected Madara to die from his Amaterasu if he ever saw Tobi..

What was the point of killing your clan if you keep one alive that's raised on revenge?

He killed the clan to save Konoha if I'm not mistaken. The Uchihas were planning on starting some sort of riot for being accused of sending the Kyuubi to attack the village, and Itachi knew all the Uchihas attacking Konoha would be trouble, so he killed all of them.

He just couldn't kill Sasuke, because he loved him too much.

I think Itachi knows what's coming. He wanted Sasuke to grow in power for a reason; he knows he's going to fight Madara.

Sasuke will get EMS, he'll try to kill Madara in an attempt to cleanse the Uchiha name, and get revenge for Itachi, but he won't be strong enough, and he'll team up with Naruto.

The series will end with Naruto and Sasuke doing that weird little two-finger handshake thing.

You heard it here first, folks.

bold : I think you're looking at this the wrong way. Itachi wanted Sasuke to get stronger and he did. He also anticipated that Tobi would contact Sasuke and most likely was aware that Tobi would not be affected by amaterasu (otherwise he would have done it himself). So then amaterasu would have just been a warning. He also contacted Naruto and anticipated that Sasuke will attack Konoha, and then gave Naruto a gift which has yet to be revealed. If you're suggesting that we've seen all of Itachi's plan, then you are wrong.

That's what I'm saying. He loved Sasuke/Konoha more than his clan, but Sasuke loves Itachi/Clan more than Konoha..

It was easier just to kill him when he was young though, now Konoha has Sasuke, Madara, and Kabuto to deal with..8

It's BAD plot!!! Seriously, this series would be so far from what it is. No, just no.

And you can't base that Itachi has fully failed yet. He was so good at planning ahead, that we need to wait and see what all he's set in play.

IDK dude, you would have to ask Minato the same question. Both did what they could without full knowing what the outcome would be, minato just got lucky.

Not really. Let's use logic again:

Naruto's purpose in the series is to bring Sasuke back to Konoha. Meanwhile they both get stronger. Also Itachi was expecting for Sasuke to turn evil and tested Naruto to see if he would kill him or not. When Naruto passed the test, Itachi gave him a gift (that he still hoped he wouldn't use). Anyway, the way the series seems to go is Naruto stopping Sasuke. It's obvious that Tobi and Kabuto won't be a big threat since they're typical villains with hopes of wold domination and will end up failing miserably. So it's only Sasuke that can give Naruto any trouble, but since the series is based on Naruto bringing Sasuke back, I would say that if he doesn't, this whole anime was rather pointless.

No I wouldn't I really understand why Itachi did it but to kill your family just for the villages sake would be pointless, I would fight along with my clan. The Uchiha made a mistake since they rejected Madara if the wouldn't the story wouldn't flow like it did.
