Would Naruto have gone so far if Lee had turned instead of Sasuke?

Lord Orochimaru and Lee would be perfect together.
Both are among the most real characters and their motives are similar in some ways...

OT: I think Naruto would do that for any of his close friends...Though there are Gai and Neji before him whom i believe willing to fetch Lee more than Naruto... But i can see Naruto doing same stuff, he could understand Why Lee would try keep up his dream; him and Lee did get minor developments together but so did with Sasuke...

Ah, I forgot about Gai and Neji. I could imagine Gai going after him but Neji and Lee's friendship at the end of part one was still a bit iffy.

So if Gai and a few others went to get Lee back, d'you think they would have succeeded?

Well it would be a fail of a mission anyway.

İt is stated in the manga few times that Lee would not give up on his way, Orochimaru's way of manipulating is not changing people's point of views and goals; it is making those goals seem even more important and unavoidable to a person, just like in Sasuke's case. Lee is already too bound to his goal, with such type of manipulation by Oro; i don't think he would go back from his way.

I think it's possible, but just very unlikely since Lee would not fit into the parallels that the series is based on. For example, just look at how far Naruto has gone to save the Alliance in the war, and how much he is willing to risk in order to save everyone.

Although Lee - or any of the K11 for that matter - are not exactly his best of friends, I believe Naruto would still go out of his way to retrieve him. Having grown up by himself for years, he probably realizes that friends are important, no matter how much or how little you get along. For that reason alone, I think he would want to save any of his friends just as much as he wanted to save Sasuke.

If gai neji tenten naruto sakura or even kakashi talked with him he will be back

But i don't see him listen to orochimaru in the first place because orochimaru is criminal

it will actually be easier as Sakura will be able to convince him to come back, Lee isn't exactly the brightest of the bunch. But Naruto will fight to get him back, but if it was Lee, I really think he would try to kid nap Sakura, and it wouldn't be much of a threat because Sasuke will be there.

I think there are three people in konoha 11 (out of team 7) That Naruto really considers friends and that he would go far for them if something like this happened, those are: Lee, Hinata and Shikamaru.

im not sure. He wouldnt be as obsessed over lee, because he doesnt have the brother like bond with him(thats why naruto went so far.

Im sure he wouldnt give up on lee, but i dont think he would go so far for him. If he had a chance to save lee, or go after him he would.

OP's story idea woulda been a great idea. Too bad Kishi stopped caring about anyone who didn't have a bijuu or dojutsu. But yeah, after the failure storyline where he lost to Gaara and couldn't be a ninja anymore, they should have had Orochimaru take him, heal him, then give him the cursed seal so that he can fight against the geniuses, then the first arc of Part 2 could have been Lee taking Deidara's place and beating Gaara with his new powers, then later fighting Sasuke again. The deal could have been for Lee to help Orochimaru take Sasuke's body.

At some point of the manga he would infiltrate into leaf like Itachi and Kisame did; proceed to one-shot Neji (who belittled Lee for a while for being a loser); then walk away like a boss.
