Would Itachi have defended Konoha from Pain if he were still alive?

Itachi is a genius... Out of all the Shinobi in Akastsuki, Itachi was the most skilled of them all... He wouldve gave Pain a real hard time... And he wouldve sealed Nagato away... Think of all Itachi's knowledge, tactics, jutsu, as well as the shield and sword his Susanoo has.. In a battle between Itachi and Pain alone, it wouldve been epic... Keep in mind he was near death already before he faced sasuke... And even near-death he could've defeated Sasuke at will...

My belief is that Itachi would've won Pain if Itachi was alive during Pains destruction of the hidden leaf...

you guys are not taking enough into consideration. If Itachi was part of Konoha that means that he did not kill his clan. This means one of two things: uchihas never tried to take over; which would change the whole dynamic of the manga, or they were unsuccessful at the take over. What Itachi did set the whole stage for Naruto. If he never did that he would still be incredibly strong. That being said who would replace him in akatsuki, that he would not be able to defeat? As soon as akatsuki came on the scene Itachi's mission would be to take them out one by one or whatever the situation needed. And the only ones that would have a chance would be Pain and tobi. Where would sasuke's level be without his reasons for becoming strong, and what would Naruto's ambition be other than becoming a Hokage?? He has no one to save because sasuke never left and he is happy with his family.

One of the Akatsuki's standing rules is that anyone who betrays the organization must die. Tobi never even bothered to lift a finger against him even though he knew of Itachi's treachery. Why? If a runt like konohamaru could get the better against one of the Pain bodies, what more for a ninja who pawned the Sennin Oro twice without even breaking a sweat, a feat NO ONE has been able to do.

K, if itachi and kakashi were fighting the 6POP, they would have no chance, first of all Deva path would take care of kakashi first, while the other paths hold off itachi, itachi would have died if pain came to the village and he tried to fight him

The outcome would be different ( Itachi would have stopped Pain ) and thats the reason they waited for Itachi to die so they can attack Konoha. They knew.

1st, don't make stories. he's not a sensor he will never know where nagato is hiding. even if he does see him it doesn't matter because konan is with nagato and nagato himself can fight.

2nd, itachi will never oppose akatsuki. he doesn't have the capability to go against them. because tobi can just warp him out of the way if that happens. if itachi is that oh so great he could just kill every akatsuki and problem solved. but of course he can't, he knows he can't beat akatsuki that's why he chose to just SPY from the inside.

wrong again, as expected to an itachi fanboy.

most of the fanboys are forgetting something. remember that they have to catch jinchuuriki in order. during the first part no one ask itachi to go to the village to get the kyuubi, it was itachi's own will to visit konoha to warn them about his existence and to check out sasuke. even if itachi's alive during pain's invasion he will not do anything against it. because its time for them to catch the kyubi, and i'm sure that if he tries to do something against it tobi would've helped pain to eliminate itachi.

again review manga. itachi and tobi had a deal back then when itachi needs to kill his clan.tobi is just holding his words as a man for itachi. tobi doesn't fear itachi that's the most ridiculous assumption by far. never in the manga shows a sign of fear from tobi.

Itachi prioritized three things. These things were Sasuke, Konoha & the Uchiha name.

He saved Konoha by massacreing his clan and putting himself as the villian. He was hoping that Sasuke would later take vengeance on him and become a hero to Konoha, thus redeeming the Uchiha name.


It is also vital to know that he considered himself a Konoha Shinobi even after the massacre.

Questions;

Would Itachi try to defend his home village from Pain if the invasion had occured when he was still alive?


Would he risk being defeated by Pain when he lived to die by Sasuke's hand? If Pain were to kill him he would doom the Uchiha name and his little brother. If he would just have stayed back and watched Pain destroying his village the massacree would have been for nothing.

How would Pain have reacted on such a treason?

And last but not least would Itachi have made a difference defending Konoha?

Firstly we saw how much Nagato respected Itachi as an Akatsuki member. Itachi would surely have persuaded Pain nt to attack Konoha (if he knew so) nd that he would bring the 9 tails. If Pain still did nt listen, we would have seen Itachi using his full powers to overrun Pain...
