Would Itachi have defended Konoha from Pain if he were still alive?

Itachi prioritized three things. These things were Sasuke, Konoha & the Uchiha name.

He saved Konoha by massacreing his clan and putting himself as the villian. He was hoping that Sasuke would later take vengeance on him and become a hero to Konoha, thus redeeming the Uchiha name.


It is also vital to know that he considered himself a Konoha Shinobi even after the massacre.

Questions;

Would Itachi try to defend his home village from Pain if the invasion had occured when he was still alive?


Would he risk being defeated by Pain when he lived to die by Sasuke's hand? If Pain were to kill him he would doom the Uchiha name and his little brother. If he would just have stayed back and watched Pain destroying his village the massacree would have been for nothing.

How would Pain have reacted on such a treason?

And last but not least would Itachi have made a difference defending Konoha?

Yes he would.

He would wear off Pain (Nagato) so much (or even beat him) that all those fodder ninja would probably take down Nagato.

I reckon he'd have probably helped Konoha but he wouldn't have changed the outcome. Pain would still stomp the village with Chou Shinra Tensei, and Itachi would probably die of exhaustion after defeating Animal Path + one or two more realms.

I believe he would've helped to defend Konoha, but perhaps in a more subtle way than outright fighting Pain in the streets, he would've wanted to still appear a villain so that his plans for Sasuke would still come to fruition.

However, I don't believe Tobi/Pain would've attacked Konoha while Itachi was alive.

However i do believe he would have tried to take down atleast one path when they were seperated from each other to not risk being killed.

U do understand itachi was one of few that new negato....
two things u got to keep in mind

Itachi would've kept his assignment which was the nine tails negato never spoke down to itachi & asked him for intel

Second by itachi being so insightful & actually knowing pains secret he had the power to stop negato so the paths demolishing of the village could've been prevented

On top of that tobi knew what was up not trolling but itachi> the akatsuki not cause strength but because intel one man had the power to bring down the whole organization

yeah itachi would have beat the crap of pain for attacking the leaf but pain would have lost if everyone was still in the village and if danzo just join in, hell guy and lee would have had huge impact and so would yamto with his wood style
