Would Itachi have defended Konoha from Pain if he were still alive?

That he would help him get his revenge on the Clan but he had to leave the Village alone? So Pain wouldn't attack it until Tobi ( who was really in charge ) said so.

Also Itachi knew what the Group was up to from the start. So wouldn't it be assumed that if itachi really had the power to stand up to Pain and Tobi he would of from the start? Itachi is strong and all but he was dieing most of the time. And the entire kabuto fight he had a dead body with unlimited Charka. Something he wouldn't have had against pain.

Is there even a record of itachi actually defeating a super strong ninja in combat and killing them? Without running away or tricking them with eye teqs?

why are ppl in denile here??? tobi said pain was the strongest member in akatsuki so of course itachi cant beat him so he wont make much of a diffrence even if he finds his real body konan wil be there to protect him and do you really think tobi would let itachi foil his plans? no he would send in kisame as well but none of that would happen because tobi made a deal with itachi saying he wont harm the leaf village but if tobi were to betray itachi, itachi would lose simple as that

Nagato was already suspicious about Itachi so was tobi behind the scenes so it wouldn't of been a surprise. That probably the reason why he never chose to attack Konoha when he was alive.

And plus, Tobi was planning things out, and Nagato had his own plans in mind. Tobi and Nagato's plans were kinda similar, so Nagato would've went with it. When the time came, he would've turned on Tobi, whooped his A$$, and did whatever his plans were... Either way, if Itachi interfered, Nagato would put him in his place. I can't believe you guys still think Nagato < Itachi.
No matter how the story went down, Nagato is still one of the strongest ever lived. TOBI was the one scared or Itachi. He's scared of Nagato too. Don't you see how he acts when a big threat is gone? When Itachi died, he acted more bad ass, and when Nagato died, Tobi's now acting like a BAMF. Tobi was the one scared, Nagato just went along with it. Nagato wouldn't give a damn if Itachi got in his way, the result would still be the same.

itachi easily die in exhaustion. look at itachi when he used amaterasu on jiraiya summon the frog stomach 1 amaterasu and he is tired. he used tsukuyumi on itachi in just split seconds that day and he rest with kisame. lol his chakra is too low. dont even bring up that itachi vs sasuke. pain can exhaust sasuke without dying unlike itachi

However i do believe he would have tried to take down atleast one path when they were seperated from each other to not risk being killed.

His death would mean an end to the Uchiha name and his fellow brother.

:flaw:Actually tht wouldn't work cuz all the paths can see through eachother's eyes so if Itachi took down one pain the other pains would come and just beat the snot out of Itachi

Itachi would have defened Konoha in the way of persuation instead of fighting. I think he would try to convince Nagato that his way of Peace is incorrect and hopefully have Nagato side with him to go against Tobis order together since it was only them and Konan alive.

*Itachi wouldnt attack his own Akataski member, not only would that be a huge risk of making him look like a good guy but he wouldnt be stupid enough to attempt attacking his own member out in the open anyways*
*Tobi does fear Nagato, if Nagato would ever go against his orders, Tobi wouldnt do anything about it unless it was the paths instead of Nagato himself*
