I reckon he'd have probably helped Konoha but he wouldn't have changed the outcome. Pain would still stomp the village with Chou Shinra Tensei, and Itachi would probably die of exhaustion after defeating Animal Path + one or two more realms.

Sorry u failed. just 3 people naruto, itachi and bee succesful destroy it but konoha many people can destroy it. Itachi and sasuke join konoha pain will be finish. Itachi beated nagato and there is a fact. I don't care what people think. I only follow the facts.

If Itachi was alive and Tobi/Pein tried to invade the village, Itachi would have found the real Pein and sealed him. Naruto would have found the paths while Itachi sealed the real deal. But Konoha would probably still had been destroyed by the Tensei.

if itachi helped konoha he would do it in two ways number one would be if him and kakashi teamed up on deva path therefore owning him ending his chance at chou shinra tensai /thread

or itachi knowing nagato could have went too his tree and finished him totska blade style /thread either way itachi would be a huge help

Itachi didn't even solo Nagato. Furthermore, Nagato was being fully controlled by Kabuto. I bet you think that if someone beats Sasori's Sandaime Kazekage puppet, they themselves are stronger than the Sandaime Kazekage. There mere fact that you are pathetic enough to label 'Itachi soloing Nagato' as a fact just shows that you are not to be taken seriously.

Itachi and Tobi had a pact and since Nagato was following Tobi's command(Tobi was the real leader of Akatsuki), then Tobi would have stayed true to his pact. If you remember, right after Itachi died. Tobi said that he had free reign to attack Konoha. This is why right after Itachi died they attacked Konoha.
