Hiruzen. I don’t fault him for the wars, the world was in shambles for a long time and as the longest reigning hokage it’s only natural he’d see the most wars. What’s unforgivable was the massacre of the uchiha clan. Whether it was done for the greater good or not doesn’t matter, surely there was a middle ground he could’ve found between “letting the uchiha start a war” and “killing every single man, woman, and child”

Wars, the slaughter of a founding clan (without the Senju AND Uchiha calling a truce, there wouldn't be a village system tbh), and the treatment of Sasuke and Naruto. I know they aren't the only orphans in the village, but they were only orphans because of two horrific events that happened due to circumstances of when he was still in power and once he was back in power again. One of said events he allowed to happen because of the 3rd shinobi war that ended up pissing off Obito, the other he planned. Yet both of them were neglected and were just his dirty secrets. He allowed Naruto to be harassed, be alone in life, and become an outcast for 12 years. He allowed Sasuke to feel alone and also become and outcast for 4-5 years, to the point that it drove him to defect... Naruto would have done the same if he wasn't as simple when he was a kid.
