Wood release is the mixture of earth and water natures mixed with Hashirama's life giving energy to produce trees, plants, and wood of allsorts. Hashirama is the only person whom naturally has Wood release while everyone else has gotten it through experimentation with hashi's cells. It is a very versatile element which has applications in any situations as the wood can be produced anywhere the user is using earth, bodies of water, or even the users own body. Mastery of the element leads to Wood Sage Mode which is unique between the known three and is honestly probably the strongest considering the techniques that open up when using it. Hashirama is the strongest user of wood release and can create whole forests from nothing using his immense chakra.

Personally I love:

(Mokuton No Jutsu) - Wood Style Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defense
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 10
Damage: 20
Description: Creates small wood pillars or trees to trap, defend, or fight with. These can be created from the users own body or from the ground.

Just like the higher versions of this it's such a versatile technique. Even as a D rank you can still make use of this in multiple ways allowing you to conserve your chakra.

With the wood projectiles technique if I channel it from the ground do they appear in front of me and then travel? Or can I make them appear say underneath them and then have them fly up?

You'd have to make the projectile from either the ground or your hands and then throw it. You can however form a projectile from below your opponent or nearby your opponent but it won't take off, meaning that if you for example create a kunai from below your enemy with the tip of the kunai stitching up so that your opponent get pierced by it is a possibility, but they have no momentum hence unable to get launched by themselves

Out of the C ranks I like:

(Mokuton: Shichuuka no Jutsu) - Wood Release: Four-Pillar House Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Pioints: N/A
Description: After doing the Snake → Rat → Ox → Ram → Snake hand seals and focusing chakra into the ground, the user creates a wooden home that can serve as a place to stay or as a defense.

Even though it wouldn't normally be used in a battle it still gives RP applications and honestly it's really interesting that the element can be used to produce such detail. It's also has some stealth applications in the NW as I'm guessing you can control the size and details which allow you to blend in.

------

The second technique is:

Wood Stocks Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will create a set of wooden stocks that will then entrap the target binding their movement.

I like this one simply because it sets up more RP and has applications in the NW, now sure most people will be able to break out of it, but it still doesn't diminish the value it gives and it can always be strengthened with more wood techniques. One question tho, I'm guessing this is the one used on Kisame, does this drain chakra like it did in that situation?

Nope, doesn't mention anything about draining chakra in the description so let's just be safe and assume that it can't.

Good. Any questions? If not let's continue. Post me the B-ranked ones and ask any questions you have regarding any technique. And give me three of your favorite B-ranked ones and explain to me why.

Versatile, these clones can use Wood techniques as well as Earth and Water techniques up to S-Rank. This technique, when created by Uchiha Madara, creates clones with EMS/Rinnegan and capable of using the EMS/Rinnegan techniques like Madara himself.

No Questions so far, I've omitted the wood jutsu that are for danzo or zetsu.

Out of these I like:

(Moku Bunshin no Jutsu) – Wood Clone Technique

Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user creates clones of themselves made of wood that then sprout out of their body or are created from any nearby source of Wood, Earth or Water. These clones, however, are quite special as they maintain a mental connection to the user, communicating back to him even from long distances. An advanced use of this technique is to transform the clones into seeds that, once implanted or swallowed allow the user to track an enemy (that has it implanted or ingested it) by pinpointing his position through the same mental connection. This technique, when created by Uchiha Madara, creates clones with EMS/Rinnegan and capable of using the EMS/Rinnegan techniques like Madara himself.
Note: Follows the Clone battle rule usage restrictions

Pretty self-explanatory but it's such a wonderful clone especially with the fact that it can communicate over long distances mentally with the user. Plus it's cool that it doesn't disppear in smoke when it vanishes but just returns to a wooden state giving it more use.

The next is:

( Mokuton: Sashiki no Jutsu) - Wood Release: Cutting Technique
Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: A highly versatile techniques whereby the user converts part of their body to wooden branches. These branches can then be used offensively by multiplying and extending them, then piercing opponents with them. It can also be used to create short-range weapons like makeshift "swords", or else vaulted at opponents as a long-range projectile which can then be remotely manipulated to grow even more.

This one is the one Obito used on his rampage and it's power was shown there (honestly I think this should be a higher rank). I like that it's pretty versatile in any range and that the wood can be used for other techniques when thrown as shown when Obito extended the branches outwards after he threw it.

Finally I like this one:

(Mokuton: Jukai Heki) – Wood Release: Dense Woodland Wall
Rank: B
Type: Defence
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user performs the Bird → Hare → Serpent hand seals and then by touching the floor the user will creates an immense wall of wood branches that will grow at high speed, interlacing to create a defensive barrier.

It's a good decent wood wall that grows decently fast and as shown by Yamato can be grown on water giving precedent to the fact that we can use a lot of different wood techniques on bodies of water.

Alright. Keep in mind that the wooden clone technique can emerge from the ground, water or even yourself. We have seen Hashirama in both manga and anime let four clones grow from his body in quite a quick succession, also very handy when getting hit by Ameterasu.

Let's move on to the A-ranked ones. Give me 5 of your favorites and tell me why you like them, and how you would use them during a battle.

(Mokuton: Hashira Tsurī no Jutsu) - Wood Release: Pillar Tree Technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: The user will create multiple intertwining pillars rise up behind them several meters high and then sprout outwards sending multiple branches of pillars to converge on a large area and slamming into the ground. These branches are not heavily concentrated but rather are equally spread out with about 1 meter and half gap between each extending branch.

(Mokuton: Mokusei Senbon Hashira no Jutsu) - Wood Release: Wooden Needle Pillars Technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: The user will create one pillar to rise from the ground lifting the opponent into mid air (3 meters) where multiple spikes of earth will rise from the ground penetrating the victim.

( Mokuton: Jurin Taihō ) - Wood Release: Forest Great Crumble
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: After performing the Snake hand seal the user makes trees grow rapidly under the target, stabbing them and throwing them quite distantly.

Out of these I'll go through the ones I really like:

(Mokuton Hijutsu: Jukai Koutan) - Secrect Wood Style: Birth Of Dense Woodland
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defence
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user, after making the Tiger → Snake, creates a forest that can either Attack, Defend, Imprison the enemy or simply support the user. The technique that gave birth to the immense forest surrounding Konohagakure, the scale of the technique is only limited by the amount of chakra spent in it.

I obviously like the fact that you can just pull out a forest against your opponent. In the anime when its first used by Edo Tensei Hashirama in the konoha crush I'm assuming that it doesn't take as long for it to start since that Hashirama was a pale clone of the real one and it looked like the delay was more for dramatic effect.

Next:

(Mokuton: Kyousei Mokuzai No Jutsu) Wood Release: Greater Wood Technique

Rank: A
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defense
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: The user focuses and molds his chakra, using it to create Wood structures, Pillars, Trees, etc to defend, attack or support him. The Wood can be created from the users body or from earth sources and its limitations are only set by the users own imagination and the chakra put into the technique.

This is by far the best Wood Technique and the most used. It's not the strongest or the faster, but it has the most applications in any situation. You can literally fight a battle with just using this jutsu and you would do well. You can dodge with it, block, and attack all in the same time with this jutsu, it's incredible.

The next is:

( Mokuton: Dai Sashiki no Jutsu ) - Wood Release: Great Cutting Technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: An enhanced version of the Wood Release: Peircing Branch Technique in which the user will create giant branches that are essentially as thick as tree trunks which are then used to intertwine around their opponent and effectively crushing them.

Now obviously it's just a bigger, stronger version of the jutsu that I posted earlier but it's used different than it was before. This one is the version that Obito used in conjunction with the ten tails to bombard the shinobi alliance with. Two question, how long do I fire these branches for? Obito fired a ton of them and from all the ten tails "hands" I was just wondering how many branches a normal user would fire? Also this jutsu is posted twice on the list, this second one is for Zetsu and Obito bios, are there any difference between the two?

Next one:

( Mokuton: Jurin Taihō ) - Wood Release: Forest Great Crumble
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: 60
Description: After performing the Snake hand seal the user makes trees grow rapidly under the target, stabbing them and throwing them quite distantly.

This technique is a game technique which although annoying is good since it's made for a fast pace enviroment meaning these trees grow quickly for the user. It's just a fast attack the user can pull out when he needs.

Lastly:

(Mokuton: Renchūka no Jutsu) - Wood Release: Serial Pillar Houses Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 30
Damage points: N/A
Description: This technique is a larger scaled version of the Wood Release: Four Pillars House Technique. Instead of creating a single house, Yamato creates multiple houses at once. It appears to exhaust him rather quickly, and as a result the user may only perform B rank and below wood element the following turn. This technique can be used to for multiple homes or as a defence.

Obviously a bigger version of the previous jutsu. Great for when travelling in groups to give everyone their own house. Can build your own village lol. I notice that it reduces your ability to perform wood the next turn, and I know it says user but that was Yamato whom couldn't use his techniques to the fullest, would Hashirama have the same problem?

I'd say quite allot. Since you're Hashirama, your wood is far more superior than that of Obito's or Zetsu's, so allot. But don't overestimate the technique, keep logic in mind and try not to go overboard with the amount certain technique's can release. And of course, once you enter wood sage mode it'll become thicker, longer and stronger.

Any questions thus far?!

I'd say Wood Release gets better the more chakra a user has. Hashirama has an absurd amount and so he can make the 1000 armed thingy and forests while Yamato can only make 100 hands and he was infused with zetsu to do it.

Na not really any questions, they are all pretty straightforward.

(Mokuton Kongōriki: Fudō) Wood Adamantine Power: Acala
Type: Offensive
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra: 40
Damage: 80
Description:
By using Moku Chakra to power his physical abilities, Hashirama Senju will strike the target with a powerful kick, preferably against a wall or the ground itself. He will then dash towards the target and deliver a powerful drop or frontal punch. The strength of the punch is such that it fractures the earth up to mid range all around and may prove fatal if not defended against. While its main advantage is the freedom one has in terms of the type of kick and punch one can use, shaping the technique to be used in multiple different situations, this technique can also be used to defend against tangible attacks, such as Earth or Wood, up to the same rank. Its power is drastically increased if used in conjunction with Chakra Enhanced Strength.
Note: Can only be used by Hashirama Senju

(Mokuton: Mokujin no Jutsu) Wood Release: Wood Human Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short (Long on reach)
Chakra: 40 (-10 per turn)
Damage: 80
Description:
After doing 3 handseals, the user will create a large human guardian of wood from beneath his feet. The guardian is the same size as a fully transformed Jinchuriki and can be used offensively or defensively. The guardian can also be combined with the Wood Dragon technique. In this case, the Dragon will coil around the guardian increasing its defensive abilities. Like all Wood Techniques, the guardian is very resilient against Bijuu techniques but the guardian adds a new dimension by being able to manipulate, to some extent, biju chakra. An extension of the (Kakuan Nitten Suishu) - Tenth Edict On Enlightenment, the guardian can suppress bijuu chakra attacks to the point its capable of grabbing a Bijudama with bare hands and dispel it. It can also be used as a medium for the aforementioned technique, dispensing the use of the wood pillars and touching the Jinchurikii directly. Only one guardian can be maintained active at any given time and it lasts while the user fuels the technique. To sustain the technique, the user must be in direct contact with the guardian and by fueling it becomes restricted in terms of elemental techniques, to Wood, Earth and Water techniques.. If the guardian is reinforced with a Wood Dragon, it gains +20 damage. The wood dragon can also be sacrificed to protect the guardian from up to one S-Rank technique, following elemental weaknesses and strengths.
Note: Can only be used by Senju Hashirama bios

(Mokuton: Hōbi no Jutsu) Wood Release: The Priest's Art of Expulsion
Type: Defensive
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra: 40
Damage: N/A
Description:
Using Wood Release, the user will clap his hands together to create a dome-like defensive structure to rise from the ground at enormous speeds, that completely surrounds him, taking the form of a dragon's face. This defence is split down the middle and can be opened on the user's command. It is strong enough to withstand the destructive force of a Tailed Beast Ball and remain undamaged. It can defend the user from any S-Rank attack following elemental weaknesses and strengths and from any Bijuu attack.

(Mokuton: Hotei no Jutsu) Wood Release: The Laughing Attack of Buddha
Type: Offensive
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 70
Damage: 120
Description:
After performing the required 3 hand seals, the user creates 4 gigantic wooden hands that erupt upward from beneath the ground, which encircle and then attempt to restrain a chosen enemy. The size of each of these hands is around the size of a tailed beast. If the hands manage to grab the enemy, they will be unable to use techniques due to the woods chakra absorbing abilities. Each hand can only be destroyed by S-Rank techniques but, due to their size, are not suited for attacking small targets.
Note: Can only be used by Hashirama Senju bios
Note: Can only be used twice

(Kakuan Nitten Suishu) - Tenth Edict On Enlightenment
Rank: S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The technique can be done in different ways, either on itself or by using other wood techniques as a medium. If used on itself, after performing the Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram → Monkey → Tiger hand seals, the user uses his chakra to create several reinforced dragon shaped pillars of wood that will surround the Jinchuriki or Bijuu, restraining his movements and imprisoning him in place. Once the user does the hand seals, in the palm of his dominant hand, the seal "sit" (座, suwaru) will appear. If the Jinchuriki is in Incomplete form, the pillars absorb its chakra and the transformation is halted while the host returns to normal. If the target is in Complete form, the user must, once the Jinchuriki is restricted, touch his skin with the palm that bears the Sit Seal, using his chakra directly to forcefully control the biju chakra and return him to normal. By taking control of the Biju through this technique, the user forcefully severs the connection between the Jinchuriki and the Biju, blocking his use of any Biju related technique as well as blocking his communication with it. The control last for 2 full turns and can't be overcome once set. Hashirama is able to use this technique with his Wood Release: Wood Human technique and the (Senpou Mokuton: Shin Susenju) Wood Sage Art: True Thousand Hands Technique as a medium, which, in this case, only requires direct contact between the guardian's hand and the Jinchuriki while Hashirama bares his palm forward with the "sit" mark on it. Yamato can use this technique through his trademark Wood Release: Foo Dog Heads technique as well. In both cases, because the user is making use of another wood technique as a medium, he doesn't need to do the hand seals and the normal procedure for it, needing only to bare his palm at the target (touching him if needed) with the "sit" mark.
Note: Only Yamato and Senju Hashirama bios can use this jutsu.

(Mokuton: Kajukai Kōrin) - Wood Release: Advent of a World of Flowering Trees
Rank: S
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 40
Damage points: 80
Description: The user after performing the snake hand seal take advantage of the innate properties of Wood Release to be able to force trees to grow on any surface in an instant the user creates a dense forest of flowering trees. The pollen produced by these flowers is then released into the surrounding atmosphere and when inhaled, quickly renders the afflicted target unconscious. One way to counter this technique is to destroy the trees.
Note: Can only be used by Madara Uchiha or Hashirama Senju biographies.

(Mokuton: Mokuryū ) - Wood Release: Wood Dragon
Rank: S
Type: Offensive/Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 40 (-10 per turn if maintained)
Damage points: 80
Description:After performing the two required hand seals, the user creates a gigantic wooden dragon from the ground directly beneath or near them, which can then be directed to attack an intended target. Its shape closely resembles a Chinese dragon, though with a short trunk-like nose (similar to that of a Hindu Makara), having an elongated and serpentine body that is longer than Naruto Uzumaki's Tailed Beast Mode, which can be used to constrict larger opponents. According to Madara Uchiha, Hashirama Senju used this technique to restrain Kurama in the past, which is proof that it has the same Bijuu suppressing/controlling abilities known to some Wood techniques. In fact, the dragon is capable of absorbing Bijuu chakra, weakening any Jinchuriki held by it. The user can keep manipulating and maintaining it as long as he keeps the Snake handseal made and expends chakra, acting as an active technique that can be shaped and controlled for a wide range of purposes, attacks and defenses. This technique can be combine with the Wood Human technique to boost its power.
Note: Only usable by Madara and Hashirama and Yamato bios

Iconic technique and one of the strongest. Can do alot of things and is very good against large targets such as bijuu or boss summons. The best way to stop it other than brute force is to seperate the user from the golem meaning it stops control for the golem.

Type: Offensive

Great technique, the fact that each hand can defend from an s rank attack is amazing in itself. To combat this you would have to use their size against them and manveour around them. They are designed for big targets and are kinda clumsy when it comes to human sized targets.

Underrated technique but with my CW and the fact that this stacks with Chakra Enhanced Strength means i can boost it by +45 or 50 in SM to 130 damage. The only problem with this is that the attack has to hit and so any evading technique beats it. Good one is drunken fist.
