In no way did she deserve that. Yes, she did a bad thing by stealing the phone, but the right thing for the shop owners to do in this scenario would have been to retrieve the phone, and then let the police handle things. What they did was completely unnecessary, and in no way the right thing to do.
I know people are allowed to have opinions, but saying that they did the right thing in this story is insane.
