If Hashirama didn't know the how sage tools works, yes you're right. You need to observe, in 1v1 you can't observe. All you need is 1-KO insntant shot. Which is kin & gin bros have Kurama Chakra. they won't go that easyly. So it would be end for Hashirama. But i believe he could know about Sage Tools since he's kinda related with him. At least with his son.
