Water Release

Water Release is one of the 5 Basic Elements. It is known as Suiton in Japanese. Water Release allows the user to manipulate the water and give shape to it in order to defend against opponents technique or attack the opponent. One can manipulate the water in the surroundings to completely cover the body of the target in order to prevent him/her from breathing [Suigetsu vs Jugo] or by turning their own chakra into water the user can expel an entire wave of water from their mouth [Hashirama and Tobirama vs Hiruzen]. Although is it quite rare to use a Water Release Technique where there is little to no water, some shinobi [Tobirama Senju] have been capable of turning their own chakra into water as well as utilize the water in the air in order to perform a Water Release Technique. Water Release Techniques can be much stronger at places which have a Lake or Ocean because it would much easier to utilize the Water in the surroundings rather than turning your own chakra into Water. Places that are hot and dry seem to be a Water Release User's greatest nightmare. Affinity towards Water Release is common amongst shinobi from Kirigakure as they seem to have produced an entire clan that uses Water-Based techniques [Houzuki Clan].

Strong Against:
Fire Release
Water Release is strong against Fire Release as it cools down the flames however this does not mean that even a weak Water Release Technique would be able to stop a much stronger Fire Release Technique

Weak Against:
Earth
Earth Techniques are capable of weakening Water Release Techniques for example a large wall would easily slow down a wave of water. At the very same time; Earth Release Techniques are capable of absorbing water and turning it muddy
Collaboration:
Lightning
Water can be used in collaboration with Lightning and the result would be electrified water. A Kekkei Genkai [Storm Release] which is a combination of Lightning and Water however does not seem to work on the same principles

Wind
Water can be used in collaboration with Wind and the result would be a much faster and larger wave of Water. A Kekkei Genkai [Ice Release] which is a combination of Wind and Water however does not seem to work on the same principles

Forms of Suiton:

  • Mist is utilized by shinobi in order to hinder the sight of their opponents. A battlefield with mist shall certainly make it difficult for their opponent, to identify the location of the user although it will be equally difficult for the user to do the same. I personally believe the use of Mist is to buy time, and the fact that this jutsu is capable of blinding Sharingan and Doujutsu users makes the jutsu much more useful.. Byakugan however is not affected. Perhaps, if the user of the jutsu is the Byakugan user, he may use this jutsu before using a Katon technique for verily; the opponent will use Fuuton to get rid of the Mist from the battlefield and Katon > Fuuton.

  • Oil has been seen being used by the 2nd Mizukage although there are techniques that can be used by a normal shinobi. The main thing about oil is that it is flammable and anything flammable from the Suiton jutsu would perhaps be the last thing the opponent would expect. A Oil jutsu that a normal shinobi can use is Water Style: Black Clouds that involves weaving 3 handseals and summoning a flammable black cloud, on which the user may ride if he wants to. The cloud moves towards the target, and when it is directly above the target, it disperses; releasing flammable oil upon the target. The main thing about this jutsu is that the cloud can be sent to move towards the target, whilst the user may perform other techniques to distract the targets attention.

  • Sticky Glue
    speaks for itself. It involves the user spitting out a sticky adhesive which can be manipulated by the user to move towards the target or perhaps stay as it is. The point is that once someone gets stuck in the jutsu, it is quite difficult to get out as seen when Kakuzu was forced to use his threads when he was stuck in the jutsu. The jutsu is best if used as a sneak attack and making sure that the target is unaware that he has been trapped in the Starch Syrup Jutsu.

  • Solidified Water perhaps involves leaving out some properties of raw chakra in Suiton or perhaps increasing the viscosity of Suiton chakra to such an extent that it becomes hard or its density increases. Solidified would perhaps be a wrong term for Solidified water is referred to as Ice and that is another Kekkei Genkai. The main use of Solidified water is that it can be used to defend against jutsus that involve 'brute strength' like perhaps Taijutsu? Or perhaps Doton. The main concept is to harden and take the damage instead of being useless water :| . Another way to use this jutsu is by incorporating it with Shape Manipulation to form a shield, a sword or perhaps a dragon ready to tackle the enemy and break his bones


  • Pressurized Water... It is perhaps similar to Fuuton techniques where the chakra is made thinner and sharper. The point of Pressurized water is to slice through everything in its path.. It may be used to slice through a rock or perhaps pierce through the heart of the opponent. The fact that Pressurized Water is fast, thin and sharp makes it quiet deadly for it moves where the user directs it [Or moves his lips] and this jutsu makes it ideal for assassinations? Or maybe to cut the opponents limbs... as I see it

  • Rain.. Although there is another Element known as Rain, there are many jutsus in Suiton itself which involve utilising Rain drops. The jutsus may involve causing the area to rain, in order to detect the location of the target or perhaps for flammable oil to rain or perhaps for sharp droplets of water to rain that would damage the target. Whatever the case maybe, Rain being exploited by someone would be the last thing one would expect!

  • Sharks are perhaps created when one conjoins Nature Transformation and Shape Manipulation. However, these Sharks seem full of life, and hungry for flesh and bones. One can spew out sharks or perhaps create a sphere of water to trap the opponent, and from the same water sharks would form. The point is that sharks are very deadly, and can be easily used by the opponent to distract someone for a second or two

That was one hell of a reply, but let me put my half assed version anyway :|

Water is the most calm element out of the five. It's mainly common among the ninajs of the Mist. These features make it a distinct element. Water is said to be the most versatile element. It comes in the form of offensive, defensive and supplementary purposes. The energy we have in our bodies can make this peaceful element furious, in order to fulfill our own purposes in whatever situation we might be. As you said, existing water can also be manipulated, which is way easier than generating it. This obviously speaks for itself, for the fact that it makes it a handy element. Water can be combined with Lightning, to make it more destructive overall. If you put a large amount of chakra in your water techniques, then no element can counter it. Water prevails against Fire, however fails against Earth.

Now let's move on. I take it you still haven't learned this technique

Descripton: A strong water wave spit from the mouth that is more compressed than Chaos Water Wave and can carve the earth if used on the same area multiply times.

Perform it, and then we'll continue for realz. It's a pretty strong technique if used corretly. You basically knead up your chakra, give it watter affinities and then spit a strong water wave which is very compressed. It's pretty quick so it comes handy in certain situations . It can also tear through the earth if used on the same place several times. Carve through this barrier.

Description: After performing the required hand signs Tiger → Dog → Monkey → Snake → Boar → Tiger the user makes water rise from the ground and they can use this water in various ways. They can create a body of water for a water summoning to be encased in and allow them to move around where normally no water exists or create a body of water to block incoming attacks or surround his target and then drown them.

Perform the required hand seals and you can manipulate water freely. You can also make it rise from the ground in order to create defensive shields, surround your opponent with it , or if you got a water animal, you can use this one to envelop it in order to move in the places where water isn't present.

If you're standing on an enormous source of water, this technique allows you to propel yourself through creating bodies of water, or if your underwater this can mask your presence and successfully hide you from your target.

Water Style: Water Heavens Convergence
Baraggan weaved the Tiger → Dog → Monkey → Snake → Boar → Tiger handseals and channeled his Suiton chakra into the ground. Then, by manipulating the Suiton chakra, he made water rise up from the earth and encase his own body.

Pros:
1. Allows a water summoning to freely move to places where it would not usually be able to move. For example, using this and sending Water Sharks at the opponent.
2. I suppose it can be used to freely create water sources throughout the battlefield

Cons
1. Way too many handseals

Water Release: Underwater Motion Technique
Baraggan channeled his chakra through out his body, converting it into Suiton chakra. He then jumped into a lake, slowly and gradually channeling his chakra into his nearby surroundings and assimilating his 'being' with the lake to mask his presence

Pros
1. Can be used to propel through bodies of water.
2. Allows one to freely mask his presence, thus remain hidden from the enemy

Cons
1. C Ranked and thus, pretty weak.

Simple technique. You simply wave your hand to shoot a powerful jet of water, which can level anything under its own standards. Also, note that it's short ranged.

Description: After waving the Boar → Dog → Horse → Tiger hand seals, the user will gather a large amount of water to form a large spiraling stream of water. It can be guided to strike a target in a number of angles.
Note: Requires a nearby water source.

Provided a water source, you wave the necessary handseals and manipulate the water in a way that several spiraling vortexes come from various angles and crash against the target. Can be quite handy if you put your mind into it.

Baraggan channeled his Suiton chakra to his right arm, concentrating and compressing the chakra before he released it as a powerful jet of water that blasted away everything upto 5m.

Pros:
1. Very fast
2. Ideal to be used in short-range

Cons
1. Extends only upto short-range

Water Release: Water Drowning Technique
Baraggan weaved a set of handseals and channeled his chakra into a nearby lake. He then proceeded to manipulate the water, creating a series of spiraling vortexes.

Pros
1. Can be used to target multiple opponents at once, for example low ranked clones.
2. Alternatively, it can be used to target a single opponent from multiple directions

Cons
1. Too many handseals for a C Ranked technique
2. Requires a water source

You will then create a flammable black mist in the form of a dense cloud, which you move it above your target and make it disperse. The target will have a good amount of flammable oil splashed all over him. It's pretty good if used creatively.

Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar → Dog → Ram the user creates a waterfall by developing spring water in a place without water veins and manipulating the resulting water current to form a wave. This is a very convenient technique as it can be used for training or relaxation. On the other hand, because it changes the environment on a large scale, it also has the effect of hiding one's location from the enemy by confusing them. The width of the water source, waterfall, and basin can be expended, as long as the user continues to send chakra in.

Neat technique for supplementary purposes. (Remember that one time with Naruto and Yamato training in an open field). After you weave the necessary handseals, you create a waterfall which comes from the dry land. You then manipulate it in a way to form a wave, or not at all. It has no offensive or defensive purposes, you can either use it for confusing your enemy or just relax when you meditate. This technique affects the environment in a large scale so you need to explain it accurately.

Baraggan channeled his chakra to the water underneath his opponent. He began to manipulate the water, creating a swirling vortex directly underneath the opponent which resulted in the target being pulled underwater.

Pros

1. Can effectively distract the opponent
2. It doesn't really mention the size of the water source so this technique can effectively be used on a lake or simply a small puddle

Cons
1. Requires a water source. But then again, I don't suppose it is a con since technically, this is a Water version of Earth Release: Antlion Technique

(Suiton: Kokuun) - Water Style: Black Clouds
Baraggan performed a set of handseals, creating a dense thick cloud of flammable oil. He then manipulated the cloud to move towards the target and disperse over him, covering him in oil.

Pros
1. After the oil disperses over the target, the user can use a Fire technique and set the target ablaze
2. This technique however has a lot of uses. Personally, I'd love to combine it with my paw arts and teleport the flammable oil directly above the target. Alternatively, the oil can be dispersed around a particular area, causing the ground to be covered in a flammable liquid. The user can also choose to send the cloud at the target and throw a kunai at about the same time. The kunai would remain concealed inside the cloud, and the user can have it explode at any particular moment; resulting in an explosion.

Cons
1. The black mist would be pretty visible, easily allowing the opponent to recognize that the cloud is different than usual Suiton techniques. Moving on, any Fuuton technique C Rank and above can be used to disperse the cloud.

(Suiton: Takitsubo) - Water Release: Waterfall Basin
Baraggan weaved a set of handseals, and then manipulated his chakra to create a water spring at a particular area. He then manipulated the resulting water current from the spring to create a wave of water.

Pros
1. Can be used to create a water source

Cons
1. This technique doesn't really have particular use.

Description: The user will manipulate one of their water clones to dissolve back to water and turn into four pointed projectiles that shoot at the target.
Note: Must create a water clone before hand.

This jutsu requires the usage of the water clone technique beforehand. By manipulating the clone's chakra, you will make it dissolve back to flowing water. Using shape manipulation, you make several four pointed projectiles that are luanched towards the target. Pretty simple but handy, if you ask me.

(Suiton Hijutsu: Kirisame) - Water Release Secret Technique: Mist Rain

Note: Can only be used by biographies from the Hidden Mist.

Exclusive to those who originate from the Hidden Mist, this jutsu utilizes the usage of your water manipulation skills. You weave the necessary handseals and make it rain, however, it isn't ordinary rain. Any chakra that will come into contact with any raindrop will be eaten, and should it come into contact with any technique, it will reduce its potential damage by -10. It lasts three turns and you need to spend +5 chakra per turn to maintain it.

Description: The user will first strike their target with couple of punches and kicks them lifting the target into the air and the user will then concentrate their chakra into their palm and then swinging their arm in a arc they release chakra creating a cresent blade of water that strike the target.

Mainly used in hand-to-hand combat. You give your opponent a good beating first by using your fists and kicks, and send him in the air. By doing so, you manipulate your water chakra and then swing your arm in an arc which you will release a cresent blade of water. This swift process can harm the opponent to death if used in vital spots.

(Suiton: Mizu Tsurudan) - Water Release: Water Tendril Bullets
After having created a clone, Baraggan manipulated the clone to turn back into water and then proceeded to shape the water into a four-pointed projectile which he shot at the opponent.

Pros
1. The clone serves one final function before its inevitable end
2. Can be sudden, and the opponent may not expect it.

Cons
1. The projectile should be fairly visible, and any D Rank Earth Technique would stop it.

(Suiton Hijutsu: Kirisame) - Water Release Secret Technique: Mist Rain
Baraggan weaved a set of handseals, and proceeded to channel his chakra into the skies. He manipulated the water droplets in the air, infused his chakra into them and shaped them into clouds. This resulted in the clouds starting to rain chakra-absorbing water.

Pros
1. Can be an effective technique to absorb chakra from the user
2. I suppose if the water falls upon a structure, lets say an A Ranked Steel Pillar. It should be able to absorb all the chakra from the Pillar in 3 turns, and cause the pillar to disperse.

Cons
1. The clouds can easily be dispersed using a C or above Wind technique

(Suiton: Mizu Yashiken no Jutsu) - Water Release: Water Palm Blade Technique
Baraggan delivered a series of punches to the target, and then delivered a punch to the targets lower jaw; momentarily lifting the target up into the air. Immediately, Baraggan channeled his chakra to his palm; materializing a blade of chakra-infused water which he used to slash the target.

Pros
1. Would effectively kill the target if used correctly

Cons
1. The blade of water can easily be stopped from forming if the user fails to deliver the punches/kicks in the first phase of the technique, and then lifts up the target.

( Suiton: Mizu Hashira Suiryoku no Jutsu ) - Water Release: Water Pillar Thrust

Description: The user will manipulate their chakra and then they create water to rise up from the ground beneath the target lifting them into the air.
Whether standing on a water source or not, this technique works. You simply manipulate your water chakra to cause a current of water to rise up and lift your target in the air. It has no damaging features whatsoever, but it can be used creatively.

( Suiton: Haretsu sui Yashi ) - Water Release: Water Bursting Palm

Description: After making the ram hand seal the user generates water around their right arm and then by thrusting their arm forwards they release the water in the form of a projectile bullet that drives through the opponent pushing them back several feet.

Make the ram handseal and knead up your water chakra around your preferred arm. When you thrust it forwards you will release said chakra and shape it into a projectile bullet which tears forwards the opponent. If they're hit, they'll be pushed back several feet on impact and also doing damage.

( Suiton: Seisuiryū ) - Water Release: Azure Water Stream

Description: The user will create a moving body of water beneath him that travels towards the opponent carrying the user. They then slash the opponent with their sword multiple times.

Neat technique. You basically create a body of water which carries you all the way to your target. You will then unsheathe your sword and slash them multiple times. It's a fun technique and has many possibilities in any scenario.

Baraggan channeled his chakra underneath his target, and then manipulated water to rise up from the ground to raise the target up into the air.

Pros
1. Can be used in conjunction with other techniques, for example Earth Release: Dropping Lid
2. If the user can use this technique on himself [not sure], it would be an effective counter to Swamp techniques

Cons
1. The opponent easily negate the current of water with a Doton technique

(Suiton: Haretsu sui Yashi) - Water Release: Water Bursting Palm
Baraggan weaved the Ram handseal, and channeled his chakra to his arm. Then, by thrusting his arm forward; he released a bullet of water.

Pros
1. Can be used to push back the opponent or alternatively any weaponry-based projectiles

Cons
1. Personally, I don't get why a technique as weak as this would even require the need to make any handseal

(Suiton: Seisuiryū) - Water Release: Azure Water Stream

Pros
1. Can be used for movement if for some reason the user is immobilized
2. Would effectively negate B Ranked and below Fire techniques that erupt from underground

Cons
1. Highly unlikely that the user will be able to complete the technique. It'll most likely be intercepted after water forms

Description: The user first kneads chakra in their mouth and then, placing their hand on their mouth expels water in the form of a whip which they use to lash their opponent, sending them flying backwards.

Pretty simple and straight forward, you knead your water chakra up in your mouth and then place your hand on it. You should then be able to expel water, but after using shape manipulation you will turn it in the form of a whip. You can do any kind of lashing movements to send your target flying backwards.

Description: The user condenses water vapour in the air above them to generate multiple projectiles of water which shoot at their target with a great amount of force and speed. The user can also shoot a barrage of small water projectiles directly from the swing of their hand.

Collect your chakra and create water vapour which float above you. You then manipuate it in a way for it to shoot several water projectiles towards your target with great power and speed. Alternatively, you can shoot a barrage of small water projectiles with a swing of your hand.

( Suiton: Kuchi Dangan) - Water Release: Mouth Shot

Description: A technique where the user spits out a single senbon-shaped droplet of water with high velocity which is hard to avoid. Once the droplet hits anything, it forcefully bursts and hurts the target. While the technique lacks the force to seriously endanger somebody, it can be used to weaken enemies while they are distracted.

You expel a single senbon shaped projectile and direct it forward with great speed. It's hard to avoid since it's pretty strong and can burst through the target. Event though it's suggested that this technique somehow is remarkable, it lacks the sufficient amounts of powers needed to take down an enemy. It can work on distracted enemies though, weakening them.

(Suiton: Nagareru no Muchi) - Water Release: Flowing Whip
Baraggan channeled his chakra to his mouth and converted it into Suiton chakra. He then manipulated the chakra to form a sticky adhesive liquid. After doing so, he placed his right hand on his mouth and released the liquid, quickly shaping the liquid into a water whip.

Pros
1. Can be used to stop incoming projectiles
2. Can be used to whip your slaves enemies

Baraggan channeled his chakra into the air, and manipulated the water particles in the air. He then shaped them into projectiles and using hand gestures; made them rain down upon the enemy.

(Suiton: Kuchi Dangan) - Water Release: Mouth Shot
Baraggan channeled his Suiton chakra to his mouth, and shaped it into a water senbon. He then spat out the senbon as a fast moving projectile to harm the opponent.

The ideal place to use it is near a body of water, but if the user's skill allows it, it is possible to use it even in a place where there is none. The amount of water used will be in proportion with the user's skill as well as its power which can vary. Ninjas with a primary water specialty will be able to produce up to an S-Rank technique; ninjas with a secondary water specialty will be able to produce up to an A-Rank technique; normal water masters will produce the basic B-Rank technique. Tobirama was able to use this technique with a single hand seal showing testiment to his skill in water ninjutsu.

A multi rank technique. This technique's usage varies on your specialties. If Water is your first, you can perform this one in S rank strength. If it is second, it's A rank strength. Normal users like me for example can perform only the B rank technique. This technique is about performing an exhaustingly long series of handseals to create a water dragon from a water source. The gigantic dragon emerges from the water and throws itself with great might towards your targets. It deals a lot of physical pain.

Description: After performing the Tiger hand seal the user creates an orb of water from which several sharp whips of water emerge. Those whips can then be directed towards one or multiple targets, impaling them on impact.
Perform the Tiger handseal and create an orb of water. You can create it anywhere, both horizontal and vertical wise. From this orb, a lot of sharp water whips emerge. These can be directed towards your target(s) and deals damage by impaling their body parts.
