The article stated that the sequel to Naruto was Ikemoto/Ukyo's Manga, and the Anime team stated they are doing their own original story on the sequel.

Of course I will. I started the story. I'll be curious to know where the whole shinobi and peace thing will lead. Most likely I'll wait 'till after 2 years since its debut and start watching when I have free time. Otherwise, I don't have that much time for Boruto

I don't think you read my response right. I was always going to give it a shot because of how much I enjoyed Naruto so it's successor is worth checking.

Usually anime original stories are 'filler' --- So I think they are going with the whole 'we are kids' route rather than the dark future of the Manga.

Good, good. It's all about tone, gimme some sweet and interesting characters in a cute setting.

Never cared about what others deem 'filler' so if that's what i'm getting I think I may be the perfect target audience for this series.

Honestly I'd rather he stay out of things at this point. War Arc proceeding into Ootsutsuki Arc was terribad and he obviously rushed things. I had my issues with Ike but he's gotten way better with time and the recap of the manga is over. His redesign of momo was the bomb and his action sequences are getting really good. I"d like to see what the series is like without him because towards the end of things he got sloppy.

You are mis reading. It says it will "start" with an original story. Secondly you have to realize that the concept of filler/canon is mostly western. Similar to the way Kishi went back to assist SP in creating the Kaguya/Hagoromo arcs, he will continue to provide guidance on the Boruto story. If I remember correctly, there was a fourth ootsuki character introduced in that arc next to Momo/Kinshiki. Things like that arent added by mistake.

Do you know the name of the manga he's working at?

If it's at a minimum how he was with Naruto The Last where he did designs and looked over the final script that was written, then everyone should be satisfied

I am gonna give it a try anyway, and as long the series isn't revolving about a ****ing yaoi relationship , and no ****ing romance in it , then who knows?
