Windows xp stuck in startup

My pc runs well until the starup page and then just stops loading. All I can see is the wallpaper no icons. Please help!!!

Bring task manager, click File/New Task/ Run explorer.exe

If that doesn't work, you'll need to run system restore. Did the computer come with a recovery disc?

hmm i had this problem in my old comp it's that your using the comp to the limit not giving it a rest you should off the comp for like 1 hour and try again if that doesnt work what i presonally do is kick on the cpu where in the start button place lol im serious after that it comes out normally hope it helps

that's a follow up comment
while pressing control+alt+del
go to files/new task(RUN)
type : explorer
normally explorer should open , unless ur infected with a virus...
if explorer did not open reply so i can give u a way to get through this problem
