Will Naruto be promoted to Chunin or Jounin or will he have to go through exams

I think the Legendary Senin skipped the whole rank thing too, they were in the previous war and it never said that they had to take any exams (far as I know).

Would make a funny filler but.. eh we can do without. You can just look at the rank more or less as a position than a rank for them. If Kakashi gets hokage then technically Naruto would prolly be defaulted to a journin, even though he is the hero if the... well ninja world.

I could see kish doing something silly like making them go through the steps in the end, reminds me of every bad rpg I've played.. "You saved the [princess/castle/town/village/country/world/time era/multiverse/time...ect] Here is 5o gold and a healing potion, and remember if you need anything, go ahead and visit the stores and purchase everything at full price, discounts are for real heros..."

Those ranks aren't just about strength, however. Naruto is really strong and has a personality that makes people want to help him, but I don't think he has much leadership ability currently. He has never lead a team. He needs that kind of experience if he ever wants to be Hokage, which is more of a diplomatic position than it is a fighter's position. I think he will have to go through the exams. As a matter of fact, I also think he'll be the leader of his own team in The Last, as a jounin, of course.

Meh I dunno what your smoking but please give me some. He hasn't any leader ability? He lead a team to face Madara obito etc. (Watch the last couple anime that's out I CBa explaining). My point is, he does have leader ability.

Not that it matters what ninja rank he is, considering he is Hokage level strength-wise. But out of curiosity, you think Village officials will promote him post war? I mean, the war was the Chunin exams X100. Naruto was the frontliner of the war, and has displayed every trait from desicion making skills to survivability in the war. If anything it would be shocking for them to make him go through the process of exams..then again, Naruto has always said there is no shortcuts to becoming Hokage. He may volunteer out of all fairness, but he wouldn't be a fair match to everyone else.

Yes he still needs to officially be promoted so he will have to take the exams like any other genin would and Naruto has the skills for Kage but his mindset is still genin-chunin level no doubt.
