[Discussion] Will Luffy fight Doflamingo on his own? (The official poll, vote now)

I find people thinking he will receive help to fight Doflamingo stupid. He always defeated arc villains alone. I don't see why it will change. Those who want Doflamingo to be defeated in 2vs1 should get over it. He struggled to defeat a tired Law and Luffy is at the very least his equal if not stronger

If you asked me this a couple of chapters ago I would have said yes he will, but after the recent chapter where Law said he wants to get revenge on Doflamingo himself, I think there's a good chance they will fight him together.

Luffy should be able to defeat Dofla on his own...but, there's a pretty high chance he'll get help from the injured Law because
1) He's injured so it wouldn't be overkill against Dofla
2) Law and Dofla are archenemies, and the last chapter even ended with Law still asking Luffy to let him handle it.

I myself would have preferred Law vs Doflamingo and Luffy vs Diamante at the end of the tournament. That way Law gets to actually defeat his personal foe and we're invested in the fight and it's a nice change from the usual formula of Luffy always fighting the main villain, and Luffy still comes out looking strong because he finally had a difficult fight in the New World and won by himself.

But Diamante is clearly leagues below Luffy. The same way in the past archs Luffy fought the strongest and Zoro fought the second strongest, people would start considering Law to be stronger than Luffy.

Unless Luffy 1 shotted him.

of course luffy will 1v1 doffy. law is too injured to even move on his own he'll only be in the way if he trys helping. luffys been training for 2 years to go up against admirals what kind of progression would it show if he needs help to defeat doffy

And why would they need to? Luffy prior to the training would get stomped by a Vice Admiral but now he is on that level capable of beating them. From hardly beating a pacifista with the help of the entire crew to one shotting it.... thats an insane progress what does Doflamingo have to do with Luffy's training?

makes sense but i dont see why that would happen being that luffy is the main protagonist and doffy is the main antagonist of this arc, but i guess we just gotta wait and see

This was at the beginning/early stages of the arc, when it looked like Diamante would be a huge badass, not the actual disappointment he's wound up being.

Having a personal grudge doesn't give you the garuantee of defeating an arch villain on your own. Luffy is the main char and has dominated all other competition who tries stealing his bait. Mingo is Luffys', nobody is going to take that from him.

And get real guys, Luffy also has a personal grudge against him. He made a friend of his cry. Know what happened to the last person who made his friend cry? He bought his foot down on him and his park and 1 shotted him.

Law has an incredibly hax DF, and feats to back it up. I'd favour Law over Luffy.

I highly doubt it. With Sabo returning the same arc Law is bringing up his own brother(maybe father?)figure, I'm sure Luffy will understand his feelings and let him fight Doffy either on his own, or just stay to the side.

What makes you say that?

Law has an incredibly hax DF, and feats to back it up. I'd favour Law over Luffy.

Luffy has to either remove his sword, or make his way to him dodging all his slashes and it's game over.

Though I will say, the longer the battle gets drawn out, the more in favor it goes of Law.
