Why's Itachi so popular?

I mean, he has a ponytail, he paints his nails, his best friend's a fish, and a DEPRESSED fish at that (he's always blue!). He's blind, he has MS, and he's on drugs. So, a very popular character is a cross-dressing, lonely, blind, disease-ridden druggy. Yeah, cool.

Perhaps people like him because, even after being forced to kill nearly all of his relatives, he was capable of planning out the rest of his life so that it would make Sasuke appear to be a hero of the Leaf in the end.
Mind you, that didn't quite work.

Perhaps people like him because, while he was alive, his mastery of the Susano'o and the fact that he possessed the Totsuka no Tsurugi and the Yata no Kagami made him invincible.

Itachi is so popular for his ruthless approach throughout the manga. He seems to be astonishing at everything and he's famously feared in the ninja world.

The fact he was able to trick Sasuke and the world for his entire life about the truth of the Uchiha massacre is impressive.

It's because Itachi died...he wasn't killed, he died. He wasn't defeated or outmatched like Nagato and the Third. He died from natural causes and still devastated Sasuke in battle and sealed away Orochimaru forever. He destroyed anything that stood in his path, when he wanted to, and he was amazing.

The resurrected Itachi is sure to be devastating since he's healthy, powerful, and unkillable.

I think Itachi is a strong anti hero character, he sacrificed all that was dear to him, for the sake of the greater good, at the same time the story is told in such a way that he redeems himself of his clan killer image, with his love for Sasuke, I think deep down people who are fans love this fact about him, the fact that he's bad ass!!!

itachi is so popular cuz ppl at first thought he was some terrible human being that killed his clan and i can still say he is still recognized as a bad guy (for those that dont know the truth) but when you do find out the truth about him you realized he stands for everything that is good. but then again if you look into each persons own history no one is really a bad guy in naruto.

I was a fan way before he turned good ... or turned good in the eye of the public. I whas a fan since introduction.

The way Itachi fought whas amazing. Every move calculated, never surprised. Always the right move at the right time.

Always the minimum amount of energy in every fight. Like he faces Kakashi he knows what is necessary to bring him down and does it straight away. No naggin trying this and that.

And down goes Kakashi in a blink of an eye.

You just gotta love that calm assertive attitude. Always on top of he's game. A true master of the sharingan.

I've said it before and will do it again. True strength is never having to show it.
