Lol this was clearly rectified when naruto met sage, as he already sensed indra in sasuke back in pain arc. Just goes on to show you naruto was a level above over sasuke by then. In fact sasuke realized it too, and that is why he went for itachi's eyes which he didn't want earlier. Naruto saw sasuke's potential in that lil fight and knew he'd get stronger so naruto needed kurama. I guess twisting manga is SB's forte.
